Measured some Bike Light Spectra

Just for fun I’ve been characterizing some of the cheap Astrolux bike lights that came out last year. At around $25 for 1200(ish) lumens, both the Astrolux BL02 and BL03 are pretty decent general purpose road lights (though I like a little bit more horsepower when mountain biking).

In any case, both of these lights feature separate emitters producing a cool HI beam and a warmer LO beam. So to while away a lazy Sunday I measured the color temperature and emission spectrum of each. Results are shown below:

Nothing too surprising here. We all know that LED spectra look nothing like incandescent or daylight, but I just thought it might be interesting to show the comparative spectra of some warmer and cooler lights.
