D4v2 tailcap without magnet should be short or long?

I’m curious about your opinion. Personally, I don’t need a magnet and a lanyard hole, and it seems to me that the flashlight is unnecessarily too long.

I like the magnet, am currently working to dismantle the tailcap on a copper one to add the magnet. I really wish that darn board was not glued in.

Has anyone found a good way to remove that board?

Should have said… voted long as I will always want the option and a couple of mm is not going to break me.

I voted long, although it would be nice if a shorter version was available as an option. If I can only have one I would rather have the magnet and lanyard than a OAL shorter by a few millimeters.

I would love for the tube to be so long that Hank could fit a charging unit at the top, K1-style. If shortening the tail cap would eat up that length. I would seriously consider opting out on the magnet and go for charging, at least for a couple of lights.

Just to be clear, this poll is asking about our preferred length on the tailcap without the magnet? It’s not asking whether we prefer a magnet or not, correct?

I honestly cannot believe anyone would prefer the non-magnetic tailcap to be unnecessarily long…

That’s right. Preferred length without magnet.
These are three of several of my D4. Black is from the early batches, where the mcpcb was pressed with glass, not screwed on. White is the batch near the end of v1. Cyan is v2, the current length.

Wow! All magnetic?

All non-magnetic

I voted long (because i like the magent) but I agree with Perception if the option to buy both was available and the one without a magent was shorter I wouldnt second guess buying both.

That should be a vote for short, not long.

fixed thanks
