Flashlight UI design (Rotary like)

Just got my tint ramping D4v2, and i have to say, its awesome!

The tint mix of the 2700-4500K 219B is superb, however one things annoys me a lot.
This is my first Anduril 2 light, and i thought it was designed to make things easier!
However, I find it confusing as hell!

Why dont manufacturers adopt the famous V10r and other equivalent designs more?
Can we have a light with a double Rotary switch to have tint ramping and intensity settings?

Now i have to remember another UI (next to all proprietary UI’s of all manufacturers out there)
Narsil, Anduril, Anduril2, tint ramping, man, i have problems remembering all of those details!

My guess is hardware complexity, cost and size. A basic tube with a driver and a momentary side switch is relatively easy and inexpensive to manufacture.

My guess is patents, notably a certain US manufacturer.

How expensive or how cheap are the e-switches? Have e-switch support straight down push , up arrow eqvt and down arrow eqvt aka gestures.
Now you effectively have vertical scroll wheel and ability to change the brightness with one hand without a mechanical rotary switch.

Of course Anduril might have to be re-written to support 3 virtual buttons instead of 1 physical button.
