“”Digital zoom”“:The Flood, The Throw And The Anduril.

One deep red sst20 led and one and high cri on the other led.

Have options for flood and throw, high cri and lightweight.

Thanks for the giveaway, Cyanskyflashlight!

I'm guessing it will run on one 18650/21700?

If so, count me in!

I'd like it to be very bright--my favorite emitter right now is the XHP70, though I don't know if that would be possible.

An option for flood and throw would be nice, though flood is more important to me if I can only choose one.

I don't personally care about high CRI (I'd rather have more lumens and less heat).

I have no use for red LEDs.

It'd be nice if it had at least four different brightnesses, and being lightweight is also a good idea.

Brightness ramping, like Andúril, would be best for me.

I like warm white the most, but will settle for neutral white.

Good luck in designing this new headlight.

Main use for a headlamp would be for working in confined (crawl) spaces. It would be nice if the flooder mode had a wide enough angle that I can see with peripheral vision if I’m about to bump my head.

Thanks for the GAW. I’ve seen the review of the prize-light on 1Lumen.com. If I win, it will be an honour to review it too, al be it a bit les outstanding (eh, the quality of my review).

Cyansky 2022

I would go for a headlamp with 4*LH351D emitters for better efficiency

Cyansky 2022

- Moonlight mode

- High CRI LED and a stronger secondary with same color temperature

- lighter and smaller is better

  • maybe even use a 16340 so the total size of the flashlight is smaller and a CR123 can be used

Cyansky 2022

I would use a headlamp when I want to go hands free. Flood for up close work but spot is nice too for outdoors.

Cyansky 2022

- Using two high CRI LEDs, one SST20 4000k for throw and one LH351D 4000k for flood.

- Even better would be the option for old-school warm white tint (2700k), posssible with these two LEDs.

  • A very low mode (moonlight)

I want my headlamp to be an all purpose light, easily detachable from head strap for handheld using.
Other thing I want is it’s weight light enought to use single strap. I have some of 18650 headlamp that use single herizontal strap, they’re more comfortable and easier to use.

Cyansky 2022

Multi-purpose? Then deep carry clip, headlamp mount works with clip attached, real moonlight mode, magnetic tail, high CRI, neutral tint, TIR, good IPX ratings for drop and water resistance.

Cyansky 2022
I would like to get a headlamp with one SST-20 deep red and one high cri led. Using one 18650 or 21700 battery.

Cyansky 2022
I like a magnet on a headlight / 90* so adjust where light is focused with a regular axel light it focuses one place only.
I like different battery tubes so I can get it as short as possible.
I like body colors, it can be hard to flashlight in dark.
High CR when I am doing something with my hands I like accurate color
I look forward to see what you make.
Cheers,
OS

Hiking or working on a vehicle.

Single 18650, lightweight, spot and flood beams, high CRI- for the flood beam at minimum, separate control for each beam.

Cyansky 2022

I currently use an O-Light H2R and it works pretty well for me… Why? It has long runtime, a good floody beam and with the NW unit a decent tint. I have finally sold of all but one of my 16340 and 18350 lights that are used for more than show because runtime is something I heavily value.

I would like to see something in a right angle configuration running the latest XHP-50 emitter with a decent ramping interface that could provide low levels for battery duration and high levels for the crap hits the fan moments. When I need a head lamp, I need one for more than a few moments thus the importance of good level controls. I personally do not see a need for a red emitter, most of us are not soldiers trying to read maps, most of us are not pilots reading maps and I think for most of us range of output would be very valuable. I think that any offering should come with options for 4000k to 6500k emitters as folks like different things and in this day and age high cri should be a given. For me a very solid over the head strap is required to minimize having to adjust the band and location while working. A tailcap magnet would be a must for me as well and it would be great if the light clipped in or magnetically attached to the strap.

Thanks Matt

Cyansky 2022

Something with multiple tints of LH351D LEDs would be nice.

Cyansky 2022

  • Easy to clip on/off the headmount
  • Magnet in one of the ends which easily holds it in place on a metal surface
  • Option of Red / High CRI or Flood/Throw emitters

*Anduril 2 (would be very nice)

  • USB-C Charging with powerbank function
  • No bigger than 18650 battery

Cyansky 2022

I use my headlamps for handwork and to walk around on the dark. For handwork I like a pure flood light with high cri at around 3500-4500 K, maybe Nichia 219b or 519A. For walking around, I like a throwier emitter, like SST20 in 4000K and also with high cri. Wood and leafs look better with good brown tones (high R9 for high red rendering).
I like clip mounts for the headband so you can take it off quickly. A magnet on one end is really useful, but maybe make it removable. Please place the switch so, that it will be on top of the light if it used with the headband, so you don’t push the light to one side, if you push the switch. I like lights with integrated charging. But make it water resistant (maybe hide it under a threaded piece), and use USB C.
Moonlight/Firefly modes (sub 1 lumen) would be great.

Thanks for the giveaway and for listening to the community.

Cyansky 2022

I have the HS6R and it’s about perfect! However, if I could improve on it:

Easier to remove from headband/different retention method
Higher capacity 3100 or 3500 mAh 18650 battery
Higher output (1200 Lumen for spot, 1000 Lumen for flood LH351D high cri
2 amp charging
Power bank capability
Switch to SFT40 vs sst40 for spot LED
Use Samsung LH351D 4000-4500Kfor high cri
Switch dual SMD LED to red sst20
