Imgur image posting issue ( now fixed!

Lately i been having issues embedding images from my Imgur image site in my BLF topics & posts. it ends up showing the Imgur page info like this below:
EDIT: I seen Imgur change their image interface, and go it to work now with their direct-link. :+1:

{height:800px; width:600px}

Are you using Imgur's direct link?

that is strange, but i’m seeing the “bang” aka exclamation point [ ! ] in your post. That normally shouldn’t show.

How come i can’t find the quote button for your OP…?

using the insert image button, setting width to 40%:

It all seems to be working, maybe delete the size tag in your post and just use the %; you may be trying to over-constrain the image and it defaults to some imgur format…? If you just leave it blank it will default to the full page width of the post window.

imgur seems to make it difficult to get a simple direct link with a .jpg extension.

Perhaps someone will chime in with a better way, but I use this cumbersome method to insert photos in my BLF post:

  • upload photo to imgur
  • click the three dots in the upper right corner of the new image, next to ‘copy link’
  • click ‘get share links’
  • click ‘copy link’ next to ‘BBCode (Forums)’
  • use the ‘insert image’ icon on BLF’s comment form
  • paste the copied link into the ‘image URL’ field
  • delete the from the beginning and end of the link

I also specify an image width of less than 95% and add the corrected .jpg link to the ‘(OPTIONAL) Link to URL’ field so clicking the image in my post will bring up the full-sized image.

This image is sized to 70% width.

I was having trouble with imgur a few days ago as well, but yesterday it worked okay again for me. Dunno……

For me the ! shows up when I use the HTML copy but not when I use Direct Link.

DBSAR are you using the HTML or Direct Link copy from Imgur?

There is no “Quote Button” on OP’s.

this is the direct link:

I put that between ! !

and Viola, Bob’s Your Uncle… lol

Bob is your uncle…

if i could “quote button” the OP, then i could see the details of his image tag to see what caused the problem.

You can see from looking at the page source in Firefox that it’s making a html reference to the image so to me it’s clear that HTML copy is being used (Direct Link doesn’t have that in the page source). Plus the fact that ! appears is another indicator as that also doesn’t appear when Direct Link is used.

I seen Imgur change their image interface, and go it to work now with their direct-link. :+1:
