Where are all the Duracells?

I did my research and the Duracells test well in a lot of areas with the Energizers a bit behind. Every one has the Energizers but only Ace Hardware has the Duracells and only in some stores. I want to be able to buy these in stores.

Costco

Duracell are leakers in my experience. I’ve had better results with store brands.

In 2022 why are you even buying Alkalines?
Go with Ikea Ladda rechargeables and a smart charger. Your wallet will thank you for it.

You really shouldn’t be using throwaways in 2022 anymore, especially when more cost-effective rechargeables exist. There’s also the environmental aspect to consider.

There are times when I don’t use a rechargeable. In those cases I use energizer lithium (silver ones.) These are awesome. Never leak. Last forever.

Has it gotten so bad that people don’t even know Duracell rechargeable batteries exist? In fact both the older 2450 batteries and the newer 2500 batteries tested well. I have some Rayovac cells that are 20 years old the only reason I am replacing them is the ends have become dented from the electrodes on the charger.

You omitted to call on rechargeable Duracells in your OP.

Duraleaks and Everleaks are no man’s land on this forum.

You requested where to purchase Duracells – simple Google search.

And then you hide your location. We can’t mind read.

Not sure the industry made that transition yet. Several devices from recent years require alkaleaks, e.g. the capacity of NiMHs are not fully used and brown-out detection fails with 1.5V LiIon. I’m still buying alkaleaks for such devices, but of course run LADDA and Eneloops in devices that work ok with them.

Eneloops and other excellent LSD batteries are a much better investment than any non-LSD NiMH in the long run.

My duracells are out behind the bush taking a leak. Guaranteed 10 years in storage. That right there is funny.

Same here, Duracell’s leak more than anything else, i do not buy them for years now, energizer are a lot less leaky in my experience. even thou they may not perform as good on paper, but in real world i have not noticed much of a performance difference, but huge difference in leaking.

LSD? there might be a misunderstanding…

Eneloop batteries are rechargeable NiMH batteries, and afaik NiMH are Low Self Discharge.

LSD are a special type of NiMH batteries.

I should have said non-LSD NiMH batteries.

...

That reminds me...

Duraloops are great if they are made in Japan.

I wouldn't bother with Chinese-made Duraloops.

Also, trying to figure out where Duraloops are made can be difficult online.

thanks for the education… I agree Eneloop are great

Also, at half the price of name brand, I don’t feel bad changing the store brand battery before it goes dead and leaks.

All my Duraleaks are encased in a giant salt-block by now.

Grab a bunch of those PKCells for 5bux an 8pak.

All those 1300s checked out on my pessimistic Opus between 1250 and 1350, pretty consistent.

And even if they don’t last forever like eneloops, that’s still cheaper’n 1-use disposable Duraleaks.

If you REALLY want duracell, I seem to see them at Home Depot alot, and also Amazon of course, but I believe you wanted a brick n mortar, so to speak.
