[DIY] Ditch That Pocket Clip, And Sew You A Flashlight Pocket! (Very Simple)

Edited to add a photo.

I love a good clip, but most flashlights dont have one. So Ive ditched them all together.
I also just love the clean feel of a light without a clip so theres that too.
What I dont like though, is a flashlight swimming around in my pants pockets.

So I thought of this.
Been trying it out for a couple months now and I really enjoy it.
Its pretty simple to do aswell.
You just need to sew one straight line.
I did it with a machine, but It could easily be done by hand.
Give it a try.

This can also be done to the front pocket.
With the front pocket you dont see the stitching on the outside of the pants.
You also have the choice of having having the light on the inner or outter side of the thigh.
Or if your really crazy, sew two lines for a triple flashlight pocket!

That's pretty cool!

I'm glad that you decided to come back to BLF, not that anyone has to contribute to be on BLF.

Are you glad to be back?

Thank you very much RC!
I am very glad to be back.

In this instance, a sew-sew solution is by no means just so-so! Nice idea.

I can envision the questions, though. “Sir, how many lumens does that bulge in your pants produce?”

Good job! If you look for “tactical pants”, many of them come with such pockets by default. For example the Helikon-Tex UTP.

i sew, but i am not going to be doing that any time soon!

Nice job. Another way to do it is to sew a smaller piece of fabric into the inside of the pocket to make a pocket within a pocket.

I once had a field coat with shell holders sewed into the main pockets. It did wonders for my EDC, like having a built-in pocket organizer on each side. One of these days, I’ll get around to recreating that.
