H17FX 7135 "moonlight" channel for aux lights

Just wondering if anyone here has some insight on how to bridge the single 7135 on an H17FX and run a lead from it to run aux lights. I know this has been discussed before, but I can’t seem to find what I need. Would like to have the 7x7135 and FET to run my triple main emitters, and the single 7135 “moonlight” chip run my aux lights. Then I could program double tap for “moonlight” which would enable my aux lights. Thanks in advance for any info!

What aux LEDs do you have that you want to run them on 350 mA? These colorful aux LEDs are usually ran at 5 mA or less total. 350 mA will suck your batteries empty in no time. The MCU will consume power as well, if you don’t send it to sleep.

The idea I guess isn’t so much auxiliaries like you find on a Hank light, but a secondary channel of colorful Cree XQ-E’s. Basically would like it set up kinda like the CWF Dragon driver where I can switch between the primary white emitters, and secondary colour emitters.

I think for the modes between 350mA and 3A, all 8 of the 7135 chips are activated by the MCU. So your aux LED would be turning on as well as your main LEDs. Unfortunately you would have to change the firmware to get exactly what you want I think. The highest mode and maybe the second highest use just the FET.

Hey thanks for the response! Yes seems that is the case that is uses all 8 7135’s above 385mA, so a firmware change would be required. Oh well, figured it was worth asking!

Not sure if you’re still around but this mod is possible without any firmware changes, also the current limit can be lowered from the 350mA or 380mA. its a tedious mod but is possible and tested. I modded 2 H17F drivers and built 2 flashlight using this MCPCB with 3 219B and 3 red XQ-E but I ended up gifting them.
