RD 6018 Power Supply - Is this normal?

Just finished putting an RD 6018 kit together.
I like it. But….
When set 0 amps, it still passes current. A video shows what’s going on.
Is this normal?
Thanks,
All the Best,
Jeff

I have two of the cheaper DPS variants and they do it too. A connected LED will always be lit. I was wondering if the RD series did this too, and apparently so.

Also, when I turn the knob CCW, sometimes it will enter a CW value. So this means if the current is [0].000 and I keep turning the knob CCW, it will jump between 0 and [1].000. I got flashed by an LED because of this….

Also one of the cases came with three RED terminals and one black one, so I had to buy new terminals from Digikey to remedy that.

Overall they’ll do fine for my purposes, serving as constant voltage power sources to test devices and power projects, but I had higher expectations.

Hoop,
Thanks, I suspected as much.
I still like it. Great for playing with our sorts of projects. And I do like the battery charging function that turns off the power once a low current level is reached.
All the Best,
Jeff
