Drop-in for for Surefire Z2 Combatlight recommendations.

Apologies as I’m sure P60 size drop-ins are covered in depth here somewhere.

A friend on another forum wants to resurrect his old incandescent Combatlight and asked for advice. He’s not wanting to spend Malkoff money.

His criteria is fairly straightforward. Single mode (light is used for sweeps not long term illumination).

Bright as possible. I’d guess he’s looking at 4500k-6000k or thereabouts and as many lumens as poss with standard smooth reflector.

Ideally he’d like to run a single cell, and if I remember right the Surefire body needs a rebore to fit 18650. 16650 has been suggested instead. Is this correct?

Due to a move I just don’t have the time to research what’s about these days and hoping someone here is in the know on what’s good. Any help I can pass him would be gratefully received.

There aren´t so much sources for P60 dropin these days

Kaidomain has a variety of dropin with the housebrand KDLITKER

Thank you, that’s just the sort of quality drop-in I was hoping to find. Nice brass and lots of emitter options.

Do you have any idea which of these would offer the best throw?

I´m not an LED expert and I don´t have an overview about the dropin from KD
but I would assume the version with XP-L HI would be a good throwy option

followed by the Luminos SST20

Many thanks, you’ve been a great help. XP-L HI remains one of my most impressive Zebralight SC600 buys for its throw in a short head.
