Acebeam E70 Mini Review

Acebeam kindly sent an E70 Mini for review.

Here is my review of it:

Thanks for the review. Mine should be here tomorrow.

This light is on my short list.

Love the review. The web format and font choice is not only nice but easy-to to read.

Oh boy, the luminosity is a lot lower than I expected.

Yes, the spot is huge. I like it a lot.

Yeah, my lumen measurements are a bit lower than the official specs.

I added a disclaimer to indicate that my lumen measurements could be off by more than 10% given that I’m using a DIY lumen tube, but similar runtime results were posted by:

- 1lumen

- zeroair

Acebeam are looking into it.

Eh. I am not really surprised.

The 519A isn’t revolutionary when it comes to high CRI efficiency at these currents, so it makes that with optical losses, you’d get quite a bit below 2000 lumens.

How low is it?

I measured 1648 lm on Turbo with a DIY lumen tube. Specs say 2000 lm. My lumen tube could be out by 10% though.

Other reviews above had a similar measurement (around 1700 lm).

Runtime measurements for High, Mid2, Mid1, Low, Ultra-Low were fairly close to spec.

Ultra-Low is closer to 11 lumens instead of 20 lumens.

I am really disappointed with 70Mini.

Without measuring i could guess it is way bellow 2000lm. The other thing i do not like is 600lm after drop from high...i mean it is such a big 18650 model, yet it cannot sustain 900lm.

Poor temp mass distribution in head :(

I really like the 21700 E70-AL but I think I’ll stick with the S2+ 519A in this category.

What 18650 hcri light can sustain 900 lm? I have a sst40 light that does 770 lm at approx 40 degC and thought it would be a good light.

Almost any that huge as 70mini...
