Acebeam E70 Mini Review -- 3x Nichia 519A 5000K -- High CRI -- 2000 Lumens -- EDC

Hope you like that intro and new review format. Won’t be for every model that comes my way, just models that cost a bit more to make it feel worth the extra effort.

thats a nice review looks like a solid light.

I’ll add- It’s nice flashlight with a nearly perfect UI. The double-tap to power on is wonderful and really does just about eliminate accidental power-on. It’d be a perfect UI if it was a 4-tap lockout rather than a press-hold.

I didn’t expect this light to be purely-flood. While it’s great for most use-cases, it’s certainly not a great distance light as the output beam profile is so wide with no spot at all that the ground and surrounding nearby objects will be far more lit than anything in your heading distance.

The rear button can trigger even if there isn’t a mechanical feedback click felt. If you press the button and feel a click, but keep holding without consistent pressure, it can continue to sense more clicks. It’s easy to accidentally trigger a double-press almost making the double-press for power-on function useless.

The USB C battery does not at all support USB C - C PD power supplies making it less and less useful over time as USB c - only power supplies replace all things usb.

Thanks for the review. Personally not keen on the double click for on, but it’s not a show stopper. Sustained brightness is a big step down from the 21700 size E70.

Ultra low at 9 or 12 lumens is disappointing. I wanted this light but am passing due to the high ultra low.

Can’t confirm this. I’d have sent it back if it behaved like this.
