I’ve been having trouble finding decent small cells like 10440, 14500, 18350. The 10440 seem to be the worst. I have 2 new Vapcell 320mAh (green) cells and the IR is around 200mΩ on both of them. I bought them off the Aliexpress official Vapcell store. Their 14500 cells are around 150mΩ as are the Nitecore 14500. I’m not trying to rip on Vapcell because their purple 30T rewrap is excellent as is their G53 26650. I’ve given up on using my Lumintop GT Nano because it flickers after about 3 seconds on turbo and then turbo won’t work at all until I charge the cells again. Even after playing around with the charge termination current by varying it from 20-50mA, the end of charge voltage is around 4.10-4.14V rather than the 4.16V+ on other cells (depending on wear level of course).
I’m doing the testing with a SkyRC MC3000 and ZKETECH EBD-A20H and not having any trouble with 18650 or 21700 cells. They all seem to match the manufacturers datasheet specs but ALL the small cells seem to be terrible. I’m not expecting them to be of the same quality as cells from the A grade manufacturers but these all belong in the rubbish bin. Even dumpster diving for old laptops I still get 10 year old NCR18650* cells with 40-60Ω.
Are there any good cells in this size, or should I give up on lithium in that size and stick with lights that use alkaleak or NiMH?
