I’m looking to get a Malkoff MD2 UV. I want to grab a Hoya ZBW2 filter, but the closes sizes they have is a 25mm and a 25.4mm lens, both in 2.5mm or 1mm thickness. Does anyone know if either of those sizes will fit a Malkoff lens? I see that the standard size lens is 22.5mm, so I don’t know if I need to grind down the glass or if it will drop in.
Unless you have a gap of over 1cm all the way around your current lens they won’t fit, you might get a couple of mm leeway depending on tolerances but not a couple of cm.
Get a ruler/tape measure and put it across the front of the light, you’ll see how big 25mm actually is for a 22.5mm opening.
(That’s assuming the Hoya filter size relates solely to the lens diameter and doesn’t include any housing.)
