Where to get genuine SONY VTC6 18650 from AE/China? Alternatives?

Hi. I’m in Asia (but not China). I’m looking to get a few genuine Sony VTC6 18650. I already have a few Samsung 30Q, but I would like to add the VTC6 to my inventory.

VTC6 comes very well recommended by Mooch and HKJ. But because of it’s high quality value, it seemed to be the favorite target of clones and fake makers/re-wrappers. Mooch has a video on how to discern and spot fakes, which sometimes mimics capacity when doing regular testing. More elaborate and technical test had to be done when really trying to identify more-creative fakes.

Any reliable AE or other Asian sellers which sells only original or genuine Sony VTC6 18650s?

Or would I be better off with other reliable (quality) 18650, than risk of getting fakes? I’m not really using high-drain lights, and mostly just use circuits that are around 5A, maybe a few units at 10-15As at max.

Honestly I don’t think that you’ll notice any difference between those two cells. I have a lot of the VTC6 and love them, but the 30Q is darn near the same. I think to get any better maybe the new Molicel would be the one to look at.

Vapcell is a popular source and they have an aliexpress store…haven’t looked in awhile but it seems like they used to sell some OEM cells (most of theirs are rewrapped with their own Vapcell wrappers whether they use big name cells or various china cells). I got a few of the Sonys from Neal at nealsgadgets.com. He’ll ship almost anywhere he’s allowed to and his shipping prices are reasonable…usually pretty quick, too. I’d message him before placing an order to be sure he actually has them in stock and ready to ship.

Most of mine are Sony-branded but I have two with the Murata name on them. I can’t tell a difference…not sure if anyone like Mooch has re-tested them or not, or recently.

we have lot of murata VTC6, samsung 30Q, 100% original

Sorry, but I can’t find any battery for sale on your Aliexpress store.

BTW — I’m getting confused on so many models of 18650 you have. I (or most users) would like to know how you are assigning your model letter+numbers. Numbers is easy, as it is the first two numerals of your rated capacity, but what about those letters — ‘G’ ‘F’ ‘M’ and others…

Hi
Where do you come from? Perhaps the battery brand name is limited(lg ,samsung ,etc), or it is difficult for your country to transport batteries, or it is your country’s shielding of vape related products

The number of vapcell products is only for better marking, and has no other meaning. Thank you

For example,Vapcell G40 can only represent 4000mah battery

If you have a need, you can directly contact the customer service personnel to tell you what batteries you want, BLF members

There will be a discount

You won’t notice a big difference between the vtc6 and 30q unless you’re going over or approaching the 15A figure. I think the main difference is you can push the vtc6 a little harder (higher cutoff temp of 80 C) than the 30q. Plus it may have a lower life cycle.
