flashlight and battery brands iincompatible?

has anyone found the sofirn sp33s being picky about battery brands mine refuses to work with Soshine 5500 mah 26650 batteries

> picky about battery brands

maybe the issue is the Length?

the soshine is
Protected, and 68.3mm long

the Sofirn battery is
UnProtected and 65.2mm long

If it fits the tube diameter it’ll either be your battery is dead or not making contact. Assuming the latter too short and it wont make contact at both ends. Too long and it may prevent the cap screwing all the way down to complete the circuit. Or it could require a button top cell to reach the positive terminal.

My Sofirn SP33S works fine with a Vapcell non-protected flat top 26650 cell at ~ 65.2 mm long.

As mentioned above the issue may be due to cell length(?) Or (remote possibility) the Soshine protected cell protection circuit may be interfering with the running of the light?

sorry guys slightly misspoke with the Soshine battery installed light will turn on and off and ramp up and down double click for turbo will light up for one second then shut down 3 clicks for strobe doesn’t work at all

As the others have said, you need an unprotected battery because the flashlight has a high current.
