IMALENT SR16 - 55000 lumens & 1715m ...is that possible???

I’ve reviewed so many high output multi LED flashlights that come nowhere near the rated throw that I’ve resigned to the fact we just won’t get the real deal, so
most people including myself think the SR16 is good for around 1200m, let’s see if it can match the bold claims…

What a light.

Thanks for the review
I tried this lamp and I sent it back ; I can’t bear the UI
It’s a woldclass search light, but the UI is a basic EDC UI one ??

In fact, once the lamp is on, all is OK,
But this is the first time I had to close my eyes before switching on or off the lights .

Because :

  1. As far as I know, no easy moonlight direct start (see point 2). So, if you start the light, it can be moonlight, it can be23k mode  (thanks memory mode)
    (23k means 23 000 lumens).

  2. OK there’s a moonlight mode : 3 clics. You don’t see the issue ? I you miss a click (or more embarrassing, you miss the rhythms to chains 3 clicks) => :boom: turbo mode 55 000 lumens in your face instead of the 50-100 lumens

  3. You cross another people / car / your hiking pals / you just want to step down the flashlight , you have to cycle up. Ok, that’s common, but you’ll go through 5K, 11k, 23k modes, watch where you aim dude

  4. You’ve finished but your flashlight really heats ! Let’s lock it by security. 4 clicks, when done you’ll have to move the flashlight to find where is hidden the green led , Beware, is you miss click, maybe you’ll launched the 55k :boom: mode
Once, I clicked quickly 4 times, the flashlight understood “turbo mode !(two clicks)” :boom: then “stroboscop  !”
Finally, let’s unscrew it for transport, oh, the lockout is electronic, if you unscrew the battery, the lockout is cancelled. :upside_down_face:

Oh and by the way (if you’re left handed, too bad for you).

Well, I don’t understand why no one in any review I saw talks about it (big lumens love dazzle people ?).
Maybe I’m just too awkward or I’m just really carefully about security. Or maybe this is because I’ve tested an Olight Marauder mini just before (excellent UI IMO), don’t know.

Anyway, The flashlight also have very good points, the moonlight mode is great and incredibly beamy for a 50-100 lumen mode. (It correct the point of the MR90 with no mode under 2500 lumens ). Impressive beam (700 m confirmed). The handle is a must (it was really really missing on the MR90). But for a wold class flashlight, there is still a conception flaw to correct IMO.

In fact, I like Imalent products, but I’m quite frustrated, there is still some (IMO) design flaws in such products (which such prices ) and I think some UI corrections, such as start on moonlight if you start the light by keep pressing the button is more easy than designing the led parts / driver / battery
Anyway, there are already a lot of works since the MR90,
Almost there, maybe for the SR32 ?

2 Thanks

wow, Imalent still don`t mention 3 clicks access to moonlight? unbelievable.

btw, what about button? i did my best to inform Imalent manager that their flat buttons are impossible to find. the same is useless led, which they sometimes place exactly where you dont see it. not above button, not in the centre. like they have a task to hide it. and they really complete this task
