TPMS questions

My tire pressure monitor batteries probably are dead. Is it feasible to purchase ebay sensors and reprogram them diy? These are on an 09 Corolla.

Its possible yes. I have done it with a Honda but not a Toyota. https://www.amazon.com/tpms-relearn-tool-toyota/s?k=tpms+relearn+tool+toyota
You can either take it to the dealership or program them your self with a proper tool.
You would need to do some research to try and figure out what works best and how to do it.
If you choose the dealership you might want to call them first to see if they can program non oem sensors.
You should be able to read reviews or find some how too’s on what and how it works.
If someone that’s done a Toyota responds that be even better, I haven’t so I can’t be of much more help.

It’s the programing part that has me. I was looking at that $33 tool on amazon and I read some reviews but I’m not sure which sensors it will work with.

This is assuming you can remount and balance your own tires.

If you have a Discount Tire near you, they are willing to take your TPMS sensors, install, and program them vs paying $60 each for theirs. They just won’t warrant them. I did that with one of my cars a couple years ago.

No Discount Tire near me but I did watch a utube where the guy broke the bead on only one side and claims the balance is not affected.
