Is Hong Kong Post always this slow?

I ordered something from DX, but as usual they were out of stock for 3 weeks so I cancelled. I ordered from Manafont instead and of course they shipped the next day, not bad.

That was February 22. It finally left Hong Kong today (March 7). How does it take 2 weeks to ship a small package out of a tiny country?

If it matters, it's coming to Canada.

It's not always slow, generally it's quite good. I noticed sometimes a package leaves HK in as fast as 2-3 days, sometimes it leaves HK in 2 weeks.

I am still waiting for things bought at ebay, shipped in the two last weeks of December. Still not arrived but refunded via paypal.

Also about DinoDirect. Things Shipped in the first 2 weeks of January still not arrived.... but paypal disputes switched to claim. Still waiting

I suspect it is to do with HK Post using their more or less free bulk post rates for "load levelling". When it is busy, stuff takes ages to get shipped out, when it is quiet it goes out pretty much straight away.

While it is frustrating, look what it'd cost to ship stuff in the opposite direction. That isn't even remotely close to cheap.

Shipped 3 pounds to Korea from New Yook state First Class which could be up to 21 days $24.16

It's definitely very cheap so I guess we get what we pay for. Lately mine have been sitting at HK Post for a while, one lasting two weeks. Sing Post seems to be faster. Then again, they also sit here at ICS in New York for a while upon arrival. Just like customs is stupidly busy here, HK Post is overwhelmed.

I find Hong Kong post pretty fast, but anything from China is pretty slow.

From Hong Kong I usually get stuff in 7-14 days, from China its about 15-30 days.

If it goes close to 45 days I usually file a dispute then claim before 65 days.

Lots of times these Chinese sellers print out a label with the tracking number and tell you it is shipped when in fact they don't ship it for days or weeks later.

I am awaiting one package that shows it left hong kong on Feb 20. Still waiting....starting to wonder if it fell out of the cargo door over the ocean.

That's what I figured at first but then I realized they're usually stuck at HK Post. This is based on comparing the tracking info among several orders. I know it's quite popular for ebay sellers to do this since they're so protective of their feedback.

It is China Post which is slow. It might be dropshipped directly from the warehouse in China (mostly Shenzhen in Guangzhou province, but could be from other provinces as well), instead of shipping from HK.

For Manafont, usually it comes from HK directly, someone in there stocks all the items or it travels from Shenzhen down to HK.

+1 when I order from SF sales my orders get to the US in only two or three working days. I know that now that USPS tracking is working better. They must really ship when they say they do. I think most of the other vendors just give a number or say its shipped before it is.

I am also waiting for some packages, one is almost 2 weeks at HKP (ordered 1/15/2012), the other one week.

They are "being processded", but processing takes very long lately...

I don't think I've received a DX order in less than 3 weeks, and the longest I've waited was nearly 3 months - I'd completely fogotten about it when it arrived. I'd actually written it off in my mind.

On the other hand, my Xtar WP2 from HKequipment arrived in a blistering 6 days after order!

Just put in my first Manafont order, will be interested to see how long it takes...

Today received one package today ordered nine days ago.

The package received four days ago took a long six days.

Package from cnquality takes twenty-two days.

Looks like if they ship when they say it gets to Texas six to nine days.

Could it be they order from others that drop ships to the buyer?
