He designed these for shop use….lathe, mill, drill press, etc. Nice units for that and other than his high craftsman prices they are possibly the best ones out there for that if you don’t need a larger illuminated area. Portable, compact, cordless, pretty efficient. 2200K modded may not be very useful for the original purposes being so very warm, but warmer is often nicer than 5000K+ when you’re working with metal. But sure, you could put it up your whatever if you want, or someone else’s.
Yes, that’s just standard snaplok “hose” used for delivering liquid coolant, air, or mist to machine cutters…fully articulating. If you wanted to, you could even buy that stuff to make a longer arm although you’d need to replace with longer wires as well. Have to get the same/compatible brand of fittings, though, as there are many copies these days and not all of them fit together.
