I was intrigued by the notion of an AA/14500 pocket thrower, so I regretfully ordered an E05. While it does (sort of) throw, it has a UI as nasty as any I’ve ever encountered.
I wouldn’t mind trying that emitter in a host that might actually benefit from it. I also have some drivers ordered that might make it more useable. It seems that Manker anticipated my motives and made opening it as difficult as possible. I’ve tried the vice/strap wrench method to the point where I thought I’d collapse it, after heating it pretty darn hot.
Has anyone opened one? How did you do it? I’ve been casting glances at my hacksaw lately….one way or another, this light will cease to exist in its present form!
