For you thrower aficionados, which light in your collection stands out? What characteristics of it impress you the most? Are there mods or adjustments you’ve made to it, or is it stock from ground zero? Interested to hear your thoughts. Doesn’t have to be your favorite, just that “one” that makes you appreciate its capabilities moreso than the others in your stable.
For me it’s my Lumintop GT Micro CSLNM1.TG. I am consistently amazed at the intensity to size ratio. I have fiddled with the centering and focus to get it as close to perfect as I would perceive possible with an Osram NM1, and shockingly there is no centering gasket(!). It cuts a clean hole in the darkness beyond 200 meters, which is pretty darn good for a 14500 powered torch in my opinion.
Noctigon DM11 with SBT90.2 I’ve got lights that can throw much farther. But I love the big hotspot beam it puts out.
Spill is also pretty good for a single optic light. The optic also shortens the light instead of using a reflector making it more EDC pocketable.
I’ve held back buying the light ever since it came out. So when I finally bought it and turned it on, I remember immediately telling myself, I should have gotten this sooner.
Ha!! Agreed. I have one as well, and wish I lived somewhere that monstrous throw would be more practical. I run 3 mode, and medium (35٪) is about the limit for my playtime. Every once in a while I throw it in the work truck and turn it loose out in some of the more rural areas I cover. I giggle every time I hit the afterburner. Just a great light.
