Single 18650 flashlight for evacuation.

Hi guys,
Long time no here. Apologies.

I took all of the140mph of hurricane Ian in my roof. No major damage. Roof and garage door.
However, the situation was very scary, specially by myself and my 2 dogs.
I saw a miracle whereas the sea (4’ white caps) was coming from the canal to inundate the house.
And all of a sudden the wind changes in the opposite direction. Much stronger than the water.
They were fighting for an hour or so, until the wind won, and the water started residing 2” from my pool.
My wife was in Germany at the time, so she didn’t see what I saw.

I plan to evacuate next time I hear category 4. Or 3. Maybe even 2. By myself. My wife will stay put.
Ignorance is bliss. Good luck to her and the dogs.

Now the question: I have several flashlights in this category. I’m planning to take an Olight M2R, an Acebeam EC65 and I need a 18650 for distance.
Maybe I have it. But I can’t find anything out of the shelves. As in boxes.
I found a Convoy that can do the trick, but is too big to carry in this situation.
I’m tied up to the 18650 because I vape. And that’s what the equipment takes.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Cheers.

Dam. THe EC65 is 21700. Back to the drawing board.

For short range a headlamp is better when you need both hands, it won’t typically reach long but it’s very useful when needed.

Thank you for your reply.
For a headlamp I’m taking the Olight Array 2S. It’s a bag full of tricks. Also has a strong red.

Hi, new in here and into the flashlights !

I have the Fenix WT25R for a few months now, and today i got the Fenix E12 V2.0 and im very pleased with both of them, and they are a very nice combo for a normal and small size !

You might still be able to use your 18650s in it if they’re long enough, you can pad them out sideways with o-rings or a cardboard tube to stop them rattling. Or even plastic if you have the skills. (You can leave the cardboard/plastic tube in there as one less thing to think about.)

For a throwy 18650 an Emisar D1 springs to mind, with one of the white flats in it.

Thank you for your input.

I’ve found the long aluminum tube that comes with the EC65. I think from the L18… I don’t remember in which light it came. But is a go now. Will check the Emisar D1. Thanks!!!.

You can always put a magnet or metal shim in the EC65 if the 18650 is too short. Even aluminum foil will do the trick.

I am still digesting that you said you would leave your wife behind and take your light and head out. That statement will impress many people on this forum, LOL

Take the dogs with you!

This guy vapes….

Glad you’re okay!

It’s ‘boring’ by modern standards, but for a 18650 thrower, what about a convoy c8+?

Not necessary. The 21700 that comes with the light is almost busting the springs.
It took a VTC6 like it was made for it.
Cheers.

Lights. Not light.

I had them during the hurricane. My wife can take care of them as good as me.

Not much. Just 10 mg a day.
I’m taking 300 mg and 4 mods, just in case.

I have more than 10 C8s. Every color, every throw. too big for the application.

You can’t expect decent throw with anything smaller though.
But i guess that depends on how far you want to see.

I think I’ve found a light that can fulfill my purpose. 484 meters throw.
Acebeam P16. I have the L17, but it’s too big.
I’ll let you guys know how it goes when the order gets here.
Cheers.

What mods and atomizers... !?
