Hello from New Mexico, USA!

Hello everyone! It’s great to be here!

I’m a flashaholic who loves 3D printing.

I like designing diffusers, battery holders, and other flashlight accessories.
If you have a 3D printer, all of my models are available for free on Printables Smile

Contact me if you have trouble printing them or have suggestions!

Full disclosure, I also sell the 3D printed items I design at my website.
I recognize that this makes me a commercial seller.

I am here to be a community contributor by designing and providing 3D models though.
If people have suggestions for 3D printed flashlight accessories, I would love to hear them!
I can’t do custom one-offs for people, but I am always interested in developing new and fun models if enough people are interested.

Happy flashlighting!

Thanks! I have lurked around here for a while but never ended up making an account.

I’m not sure I’m allowed to make a post in the [WTS] part of the forum as I do run a small website that I make my sales from.
I’m no Convoy or Sofirn but this seems like a gray area and I’d rather not get in trouble (at least not immediately Wink )

I don’t understand these rules and don’t care to learn why it matters but anyways welcome. I don’t think being here matters if you are a manufacturer or seller. The light is what sells itself. I’ve had to jump through hoops and wait 13-14 years to get one light I have and it isn’t even supported or made by it’s manufacturer any more.

Pictures you say! Great idea!

And thanks for complimenting my diffusers, that makes me happy Smile

I think I shall setup a giveaway for them and share a bunch with the community!

Here are some of the things I make!

Diffusers for Emisar lights (I also make for the D18 and Wurkkos TS10 now)

Emisar D18 diffuser in action!

I recently made these single battery holders, but they turned out to make pretty good diffusers as well.
I had to develop flashlight specific adapters for them, but it was pretty easy.

Great Idea!

The TS10 was voted most popular light of 2022, and I think a battery holder that doubles as a diffuser is a Great Idea!

A Deep Red diffuser could have several benefits:
as a traffic wand, so a pedestrian at night will be more easily seen by vehicle drivers

Deep Red also acts as a bug deterrent lantern when camping, and

We often get people here asking for a Red light for astronomy, A red battery holder might be great for that too!

A few random thoughts
Im pretty sure someone will try to run Turbo through a sealed battery holder in lantern mode.. I can hear it now.. “My Diffuser Melted!” or worse, “My Diffuser Killed my Light!” …

A Disclaimer may be required.. LOL

another idea
a red traffic wand could be even more useful if the end of the tube was clear, not sure thats possible with the printer tech.. The idea is that the person using the wand, can get some white light, just out the end, to illuminate their path, while still sending Red light out the sides..

Not sure how transmissive a clear window would be, but hopefully enough to illuminate the ground to help see where we are putting our feet.

The clear window works against the anti mosquito feature of Full Red light.. but I have an idea to solve that.. design the cap and tube so the cap can cover the bottom of the battery tube, when in Lantern Mode.. Viola! no bugs, and welcome to the Astronomy club.. LOL Party

Oh I do make them in red also! I used to use a Fluorescent Red 3D printer filament, but that ended up making a lot more pink colored light.
With this red filament, there is a lot more pigment so it is a much deeper red.

If you use a red and blue diffuser and put your lights on strobe, it can make it look like a police car!

Also in regards to melting diffusers, I actually made a completely black diffuser to test this!
I ran my D4V2 on turbo and it surprisingly did not melt!

For the clear/colored diffusers, so much of the light transmits through the diffuser that there really is not that much heating.
I can’t guarantee that some super powerful flashlight wont melt a diffuser, but I have not melted any yet during my turbo testing.

Cute little Red TS10 w Red Lantern Battery Holder! Wink

a tip about a bug in this website’s image quoting:

when an image is the very last thing in a quote, it does not display properly, it does this:

spicy3d wrote:
!{width:50%}https://i.imgur.com/yV43vJj.png!

so I suggest you cover for that by adding a period after the ! at the end of image codes. Only needed if the image is the very last thing in a quote. That is how I get your pics to display when I quote you, I add a period after the !. See what I did there? Beer

That’s a great tip to know! Thanks! I will have to learn how to use this forum’s formatting as well.

Welcome to BLF Spicy3d! I’ve browsed your site before after finding it on Google searching for diffusers. They look great and I will be ordering a few. I’m a flashaholic and a chili head so this should be a good omen Smile
