Troubleshooting Wurkkos TS10 that won't turn off

Hey folks, My new TS10 stays on unless I do a mechanical lockout and unscrew the tail cap. I am working with Wurkkos and it looks like they are going to replace the light. Since the light is a lost cause I would like to take the opportunity to learn a little by diving deeper to try to save it.
So far I have broken the light down, cleaned all contacts with alcohol and tightened everything with.

What are the next steps for troubleshooting and isolating the fault in this light ? I am hoping to find an easy to repair short or component, possibly even swapping/upgrading parts.
Thank you

More details. Is it constant, same brightness, which brightness, any reaction from the switch at all, aux always on?

edit: Crosspost on reddit. It’s probably just confusion from the aux LEDs.

Hopefully @0bserver understands that his TS10 is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. He just needs to understand the process of setting the AUX LEDs function to the way he wants them to work.

Hmmm. That’s a lot of instructions for a flashlight. There is just one button. It must be faulty. I’m not reading all those instructions. It’s not an auxiliary light, it’s a flashlight.

SOLVED on Reddit…

OP meant the Aux lights are staying on… so he was unscrewing the Head (not the tail) to physically lock out the Aux

if OP likes to use High Aux, unscrewing the Head is a good idea, otherwise High Aux will drain the battery in less than a week if left on 24/7

the Anduril solution is to get into advanced w 10H, then with the light OFF do 7C, two times to get to Aux OFF… and if he wants to go back to Simple mode, then do 10C

the OP now has the option to turn off the Aux lights without having to unscrew the head

I guess there is an argument to be made that the factory default should not be high aux always on. But this light was designed with the enthusiast in mind.

Andruil/Andruil 2 can be intimidating at first. Once one gets familiar with it (and keeps a programming diagram handy) it unlocks so much valuable functionality that it makes it quite worth it… to me (and lots of others). But for those that don’t want to mess with it, simple mode is there… or just lights with much more basic UIs. Of course, minus the extreme flexibility.

But, yeah, it is not for everybody. Maybe the OP is one of those ??

Aux lights are a Feature, not a Flaw

some people enjoy reading manuals, others just want a light that turns on and off

here is the latest Anduril chart, thanks to containerfan
.

The part of the chart called “Aux LED mode in Standby”
shows. the clics needed to turn Aux off
and there is a separate part called “Aux LED mode in Lockout”

charts help me After I have read the manual…
just looking at a chart, without having read the manual, gives me information overload

Anduril ramping is the closest thing I could find to my Favorite UI, which is in the Jetbeam RRT-01… turn a dial and the light goes up or down… w Anduril, hold a button and the light goes up or down… close to similar… but with Anduril, I have to read the manual.

For people that like to KISS
The Jetbeam RRT-01 is so simple, there is no need to read the manual at all…

Thanks, for chiming in. The flashlight was being inconsistent making it hard to diagnose. Finally a combination of thoroughly cleaning threads and contacts with alcohol, tightening things up with a proper tool and performing a factory reset to get it right.

Just to clarify, is the light now working properly?
