New Aurora/UltraFire 3xAA or 1x26650 light with XM-L LED

Nice and interesting XML flashlight, powered with 3xAA or 1x26650. Not very expensive if it is well built and the led is well driven too...

Aurora 29$ http://www.dealextreme.com/p/aurora-sh-3aa-cree-xm-l-t6-800lm-5-mode-mem...

UltraFire 28$ http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ultrafire-sh-3aa-cree-xm-l-t6-800lm-5-mode-...

Should 3xAA NiMh batteries give enough current to feed the XML to it´s full power (3.0A)?

(ignore DX description... digitally regulated 2.4A, it can be 3.0A or 1.0A or whatever....)

They also added more 3xAA lights... the SAME body but with older leds

Same but with XR-E

Same but.... XP-E? The photo is not correct then...

There is also the same lights but "Ultrafire" branded instead of "aurora"

Looks like the cyclone C88 from intl outdoor

Awesome! Wish they were a little cheaper! Reflector looks deep, but wish it was wider. No tube for the 26650? Wouldn't there be battery rattle? Wouldn't 3AA's be about the size of a 32500? Does that mean a 32500 cell would fit?

Maybe the description is wrong and is not 26650 but 32650. Who knows? DX descriptions XP

Generally all these light use he same C8 reflector, It's quite standard, even the TK35 has the same size reflector. +/-1-2mm difference.

AA are 30500 in fact.

I guess only Eneloops can give that high amperage. But that would be just like 40-50 minutes or so at the highest. Maybe a 6xAmc driver could be better for this light. I were on the edge of buying an Olight s65. It was a wise idea to pay ~$90 to a 6x AA light while 3x AA UNknown Cyclone was $45. But now with a price tag of <$30 For a 3xAA, $90 feels too high.

HAIII finish, now way at that price, that is hard to achieve.

GoingGear has one A6 Polestar left in their Garage Sale, going for $50.

6 x AA, MC-E emitter, decent quality. If I didn't already own one, I'd jump all over it.

One of the worst-built lights I have is an Aurora Ultrafire C3 clone - and one of the best is the Aurora SH-034 (The 032 and 033 are nice too).

Aurora quality seems to be terribly spotty.

There's an UltraFire version, too, even a tad cheaper. Ordering one.

Thanks DrJones, I didnt noticed that.... (too many flashlights with same body XP)

Have XM-L and XP-E version same reflector?

I have some spare XM-L LEDs and drivers...

I have to disagree. The Cyclone is pretty nice looking while this Aurora offering is kind of butt ugly.

I got so excited when I read the title - because I'm on the 3 x AA/26650 kick - and then saw the author is fran2 so I already knew it's a DX product. Poop on that.

yeah, i spent 45 minutes waiting for someone to actually answer on online chat today, a half hour between rma'ing stuff they shipped that was wrong and opening paypal cases, then a half hour trying to figure out how to cancel the hd2011 from dx offers (waiting 16 days, still 'packaging') and never figured out how.

done. with. dx.

LOL

Ill check out those links, been looking for cheap yet decent(is it possible with 3xAA to have both?) light like that!

Why are there so many good lights in 10-20$ range that run on 18650 but none that run on 3/4xAA?!

OK, checked, C88 looks awesome while these, well, these should cost 10-15$ to make me excited about them and even then not without positive reviews!

If this weren't DX, I'd jump on it now. This will sell big because of the "not having to buy a charger and special battery" factor for non-flashaholics.

Hmmm... I do like 3AA fat lights, and I'm just about to embark on the Saik mod, probably using an XM-L @ 2.2A, but these lamps, although a little ugly, look a LOT sturdier in the thread department.

Maybe I should sell the Saiks (I bought 2) and pick up one of these.

Somehow missed this thread altogether .

So lets bump it and we'll wait for dr jones to get his light and begin operating on it ..it's been a month now //come on dx ..

Even if the 26650 is a misprint couldn't a 18650 fit also?

I don't believe it Ordered yesterday, today already shipped.

Miracle on DX
