Any batterypack welding services?

Hi there,

Does anyone here knows of any people/companies that are offering welding battery packs from my own cells?

From what I can find, all battery pack welding companies require cells to be purchased from them, or, if supplying my own cells, they only do it for very large quantities (100+ packs). Both of these options don't suit me, sadly - are there any alternatives?

There is a reason for this. Cells for pack building ought to be very carefully matched to get the best performance.

Well yeah, what I need is a pack is 1S16P of 18650 cells from same manufacturing batch, with capacity and internal resistance matching at ± 5%. It’s not like cell matching is critically important for 1S[many]P packs anyways

Aren’t Li-Ion’s very dangerous to solder to?

Yes. That's why they need welding with a discharge type device. Much less heat and all of it concentrated where you want it.

ive done it on s few occasions with heavy gauge wire. and adding solder blobs to cells. it will require a pretty high wattage iron. i use an ungar solder station from my rc days.
