I just got mine today. It really came up in perfect condition. Well lubed, flawlessly working, well centered and throwy. I only had an old 18650 with me. It had an adapter with it and worked perfectly with a 18650. I found this really bright and as throwy as a Jetbeam BC40. Tailstands perfectly.

Thank you very much for the heads up. I'm glad I haven't paid for a Shadow J series.

I am with you on the praise of the Keygos M10. I have two of them, and they perform flawlessly. WinkIn addition, they look good too. I am on the verge of getting a 3rd one. I used them on my bicycles. I have a pair of them on the bike I am on today. Also, I have a 18650 light on my helmet. Thinking about replacing it with another Keygos M10.

Just like you, I have been looking at the PRICES of the competing lights. This light is going for $23 with free shipping. IMO, one of the best deals out there in Flashligt Land!! Wink

IMO again, this light is so good, it would still be a good deal at TWICE THE PRICE!! Wink

Kokopelli, did you buy the M10 or tha M10a?

I think I mentioned this before. They are all the same. I think they might put the "a" on there when they sell it with battery and charger.. Correct me if I am wrong.. But,  I only see the specs for one Keygos M10..

As you all have seen in my previous posts, I have 2 Keygos M10s. They have been working perfectly. I have had  them for about 2 to 3 weeks. About 2 days ago, I am riding, I have them mounted on my bicycle, and one of them stopped working. Okay, I figured a battery. When I got to work, I put in a fresh battery, still no work. Okay, I take it apart, put it back together, real tight, still no work. I switch tailcaps from the one that is working, still no work.

I take it apart again, check everything that my newbie eyes can check. Again, retighten the light, and it still doesn't work.

What am I up against here???

Good news.

Today I received another Keygos M10.

Driver is still 20mm, but these M10 have 17mm ring. No problem for driver swapLaughing

Take a pic of driver etc, do solder joints look intact, does emitter look OK? Battery deffo OK, check with meter? Clean all threads, tighten inside of tail cap.... um not sure after that but try those and see what happens

This may help, different lights but maybe relevant, as posted by a guy on bikeradar:

My M10 had bad joints...spring in tailcap and front battery spring both broke in first day.

Thanks Jeansy, I am all thumbs. However, true to the character and comradmanship of BLF members,  another poster offered to check it out for me. I sent the M10 to them, and they did all what  you stated above. It was one of those things you suggested to look for. I think solder points was the culpurt. Anyway, the member fixed it for me, kept it for another couple days to see if it would malfunction. It didn't, and now it is on its way back to me..Wink

Great place and great people we have here!

Thanks for the response and feedback,

ce

The reflector is 6mm deeper, so it won't fit.

I think m10 is more of a thrower and slightly brighter, since its driver delivers 3.3A to the led.

International Outdoor sells AR coated 42mm lenses for C8's at $1.95ea with free shipping if you get three (no brainer to me to get three).  Says 98% transmittance.  I just received an order from them placed 4/17/12, shipped 4/18/12, arrived 5/5/12.

Ordered a pair of M10s from ebay to mount on my bicycle back in early May. They finally arrived late last week. One was non-functional (LED leads appear to have been pinched-off when the head was assembled) but the fix was simple enough. Paired them with TF 26650s and finally got a chance to do some dusk riding tonight to test them out.

Previously, I'd been using my Fenix TK45 (3x XPG-R5, 760lm) on the bicycle so that's what I'll compare them against. Sorry, no beamshot comparisons.

Here are my observations in no particular order:

1) These guys are being sold on ebay as 1600lm lights. I knew before I ordered that it was inflated so I'm not upset about that. I don't have any measuring equipment but bouncing the light off the ceiling yields roughly the same amount of room illumination as the TK45.

2) The TK45, being basically pure flood, illuminates the whole road/trail ahead and a good amount of stuff off to either side. It also tends to annoy oncoming bikers. In contrast, the M10s project a well-defined hotspot. They do have usable spill but it's not the soft wall of light that the TK45 produces.

3) After ~30 minutes of 12-15mph riding in 77F ambient temperatures with the M10s both on 'high', the heads were warm. I'd guess around 90F. So the heat fins work okay. I wonder, though, if they'd perform better if they ran parallel to the length of the body.

4) I was passed by a number of cars tonight and as they passed me, I compared their headlight beam patterns and brightness to bicycle. My lights were comparable in brightness to a pair of older car headlights. All of the cars with HID headlights were definitely brighter.

Verdict... I don't think I'd be comfortable with just one M10 on the bike. I'm too spoiled by the TK45's spill. A pair of M10s, one aimed 15ft ahead and the other aimed 40ft ahead, works okay. The best solution, though, is probably to pair a single M10 with another XML light with a smaller reflector. (edit: original 15ft & 20ft distances were too close. definitely had a few seconds to react to objects in the combined elongated hotspot so the second light had to be aimed further out...)

 sacra, great report!

Like you, I am bicycle and just recently turned into a flashlight person too.. I run a lot of lights on my bikes, all road bikes, and all lights are run in PAIRS.. The M10 is my favorite, and I run it just like you found out. In pairs, one a little further then the other.. Also, to assist the pair of M10s, I run a 26650 helmet light too..

Just checked on the TK45, wow, the M10 should just take a bow for even being mentioned in the same sentence with a TK45!!! Laughing I can get 5, 6 or maybe SEVEN M10s for the price of one TK45!! Smile Also, for my bikes, I like the short form factor lights. The M10 fits right in.. Also, if you haven't checked it out, here is a another winner in cheap, powerful light with short form factor, and cheap price.. Got a pair of these too..

Again, nice report and safe riding to you,

Not sure if something is loose or if my 18650 isn’t dishing out the amps necessary but the brightness fluctuates. It’s a great size and nice beam, hopefully I figure it out.

Edit: the lights is working fine now, after I loosen and tightened the head. Yeehaw

I’m glad I’m not the only flashlight collector out there, I was beginning to think I was strange.

I would almost have ordered a Trustfire A8 as my carry arround 26650 light. It offers a TF 26650 battery and a charger for $40. Does anyone have bıth A8 and Keygos M10? A8 should be a flooder I guess.

Have them both. The a8 is way better built and a real flood torch. The M10 can throw.. but I love my A8 !

I really should stop coming back to this thread…… Just checked eBay, an m10 is running at twelve quid, an m10 two cells and charger twenty four quid and an a8 with charger and cell is twenty six quid…..

I see another 26650 light being bought next month, probably an m10 – the spare cell can run the “deal” I jumped on yesterday, that 26650 uf980 clone Big Smile then I can get an a8 and head strap as my car edc
