Recommend a single AA for my girlfriend.

At the moment I have a lot of torches but mostly all 18650 XM-L

The only experience I have had with AA is the Sipik clone, Tank 566 (gave them both away) and I just bought a Xeno E03 that I won't receive for a while yet.

She wants something that she can just use single AA (not 14500s) and be bright.

Is there anything with the output of say like a Zebra H51 in output for a regular AA light without the Zebra price tag? (not looking for a angle light though)

Also I don't know a whole lot about LED types so recommendations are welcome.

Do you have a price range. Will she learn about modes? My wife hates strobe!!

Wait till you get yours E03 - I bet you'll order another one as soon as you get to use it.

Maybe this? ;)

(Sorry. I had to. 0:) - And it's even AAA, so not suitable)

Have a look at the single-AA Thrunite.

I don't recall the model number, but it had similar output to the ZL H51

If the size is an issue, she might like DQG AA NW. Nice light and very optimal size for an AA light.

This one's nice:

About $20-30, and Id prefer a 3 mode without SOS and strobe but would consider others.

I'm not sure, I was under the impression 14500 lights are quite dull when powered with a AA. Where as my brothers Zebra H51 is AA only, its the brightest AA I have seen.

2 mode 130 lumens off a single AA, I think I would prefer that one for her so far.

Thrunite T10?

115 lumens tested on AA and 3 mode

Looks pretty good and just in the $30 budget.

I guess it might come down to what one has the better LED.

What is the diffrence between XRE-R2 and XPG-R5?

Ill look it up myself but someone might be able to explain it better.

I have given several of these to friends and family .

The Lighthound XM-L AA is a nice light, but it is a forward clicky if that matters to you.

@jacktheclipper Nice price, single mode though.. Ill have to ask her if she cares about modes or not.

I found out the following about the LED's.

Intl-Outdoor OEM

XR-E R2 @ 350mA = 122 lumens

Thrunite T10

XP-G R5 @ 350mA = 139-148 lumens

Romisen RC-G2 II

XP-G R4 @ 350mA = 130-139 lumens

I guess the driver and reflector will play a bigger part than the LED's.

Just to go for the easy laugh, I was going to ask ezarc to clarify that the title question concerned flashlights. But since the OP clarified the title, I thought I had missed the opportunity and was just going to let it go. Then, _the_, who clearly has a similar sense of humor, goes for the low hanging fruit with post number three. Followed by the coup de grâce, _the_ starts post number five with "If the size is an issue, she might like..." Wow! Not even sure he was trying, but, nailed it!

The iTP A2 EOS Available from Battery Junction for $24.95 might fill the bill.

Welcome to BLF, JerryM.

With just a few minor cosmetic differences, that looks like a re-badged Balder SE-1.

Good light and good vendor. Can't beat the price for U.S. sourcing - good find, troop.

Welcome to BLF, JerryM. Thankfully, your user name isn't "Bubbles" or "Heidi" (or Gerry, with a "G"), because a link in the first post, coupled with a girl's name makes some of us suspicious. Not me, of course. I love paisley.

Do either of you know what the UI is on this light? I mean, does it switch between modes each time you depress the button?
