The winner is...#31! GIVEAWAY!!!!! Micro Maglite host!

UPDATE: Contest ends Sunday, 4/15 @ 8pm EST.

The deadline for entering is now Sunday, 4/15 @ 8pm EST. but the limit of 100 entrants is lifted in case it goes over. It has come to my attention that some are intimidated by the mods required to complete this host. It's a very simple task and here is the quick and dirty to explain what you need. Hopefully this will entice a few more entries.

You just need a p60 pill without the reflector and outer spring but with the center "+" spring. Put some thermal grease on the pill threads and slide it down into the head cavity. insert the factory plastic reflector to see how much needs to come off the base of the reflector. Sand it down to that height with sand paper and clean up the emitter hole in the reflector with a sharp knife or exacto blade. Once the reflector sits inside the head properly, cover with lens and thread on the bezel. Insert 14500 and enjoy!

You can use an XM-L pill with any amperage. Use an XP-G, XP-E, XR-E...whatever you have. The only requirement is that the bottom of the driver that faces the battery must be component free since the torch makes electrical contact by the battery tube pressing against the negative ring of the driver PCB.

Every time I go into my MicroMag supplies I see one of my first micro hosts languishing unloved in the bin. Why is it unloved you may ask? Because it's a misfit and a second. The tailcap threads are not perfect and there is a nick in body where my file slipped rendering it unsellable as one of my Micro "Mac-Lights".

Being inspired by all the other generous users on BLF but unable to afford to give away one of my fully completed customs (...yet! ) it struck me that there are many here who would like to have the chance at a bobbed minimag host bored and ready for them to simply drop in the P60 pill of their choosing with nothing more to mod than to shorten the original reflector to fit their handy work. What better than to give back to our awesome community and raffle this charming little orphan in brilliant red to someone who can give it the love it craves while giving them something unique that they don't have to worry about putting that first devastating scratch into.

What do you need to get in on this offer?

  • Just be one of the first 100 members to reply entered by Sunday, 4/15 @ 8pm EST and have joined no later than yesterday.
  • Be willing to pay $5 in shipping if you are not a CONUS resident (payable via paypal).
  • One entry per member! Your post # will be your raffle number.
  • Understand that this host does have a cosmetic couple flaws but nothing that will effect performance.

I will pick the winner using a random number generator once I have had 150 replies to this thread. Rules are subject to change if I see fit and all decisions are final. That said, here are the pics of little red...
