I found my way here, I think from cpf but not sure and it hopefully doesn't matter. I am fascinated by the work that is done here both by hand and aided by machine. I started messing with LEDs ~ 3 years ago and have immensely enjoyed the learning process(mostly). Even though I do not own a lathe I like those threads and they inspire me to see what I can do without one. I use copper fittings and dremel tools extensively to get around this lack. My mods have all been of existing incandescent lights and were somewhat purpose driven. Starting with mr11 halogen Vistalites(you can look me up on mtbr, same username) and moving to dive lights like the Pelican Saber Lite and King-D. I have been reading and posting here for a few days now and look forward to learning and sharing what I learn as I stumble forward through each mod.
For the curious, the text in my signature come in part from the original "Curse of th Mummy" and yes I know it was a potion the mummy drank not chips like from a bag of Doritos but I just like the image.
Welcome rufusbduck. I think I have read some of your posts over at mtbr. I slip around in the shadows over there from time to time. Guess which subforum ;-)
That's an old pic of me and my 173 lb. halibut caught in Homer, AK. I'm still looking for an old pic of a 65 lb. king salmon I caught on the Kenai river.
I also don't understand why people order salmon or halibut here in Hawaii when you have all kinds of fresh fish caught that same day. One thing that surprised me when I first moved here was the cost of salmon and halibut. I gave away most of everything I caught over 22yrs. living in Alaska which is probably hundreds of halibut and thousands of salmon.
