New Trustfire 7 x T6!

J12 body. Nice drop-in, the J12 is not a drop-in so drive might be a little different. Will email and see if it's worth to get.

Confirm no issue with thermals, driver longevity remains to be seen but TF products are pretty ok in my experience.

They probably all come out of the same factory anyway.

Hmmm,

So it doesn't work with 2 x 18650? Too powerful?

Yep, Ultrafire has one that is identical as well.

The good thing is that this is a little different from the J12 that this has a spring. So from what i see on my J12, the KK 26650 should work. Same warning for unprotected cells usage, monitor your voltages.

Probably no LV protection as well (I am using my J12 head with a Shadow JM05 body with 1 x KK 26650..hehe).

Anyway, it should be at least 2000 lumens OTF, and the good thing with 7 XM-Ls vs 5 XM-Ls is that this is gonna be a little bit more efficient, less heat.

2000 lumens for 20 mins shouldn't be an issue for countries in the tropics even (like Pok's in BKK or like me). J12 got up till 45 deg C head temp in 12 mins if i remember correctly.

But since i already have a TR-J12, i'd want this to be well over 3000 lumens OTF. Money Mouth

I would love to have this light.

Pls get one and report on the performance. :D

Thanks very much for your review!!!
For your problem,as below
>Can I get more info? I have the 5 x XM-L TF-J12 and it takes about 3.5A at the tailcap with 2 cells and 2.1A >with 3 cells.
It is normal,as the current is digital control,or we can call it circuit board protected!
>> What is the drive level of these new 7 XM-Ls? Are they higher than the 5 XM-L? (brighter?)
For the 7xT6 torch, sure it will be brightness than the 5xT6,also for the driver level,it will brighter than then 5xt6,as for the real value account,i did not test it yet, sorry!
>> Someone got the 7 x XM-L Keygos and it's even dimmer than the 5 x XM-L, coz the drive level only 1.5A at the tailcap with 3 cells (J12 is 2.1A).
for the current,i think most off them are digital control, also we can know if we put the 7A circuit,we can think about the heat!it will very hot, that will not goods for us,right?
Seems like the same circuit as J12... Give me some time to churn the exact numbers in the Excel LED calculator and see how much the gain in lumens from 5 to 7 x T6 but with same current. 7A is actually around there (remember that 2 cells would sag more than 3 cells and also the efficiency is also a wee bit different for 2 and 3 cells in J12 ie i measured raw 225 lux for 2 cells and raw 215 lux for 3 cells), lets give it 8 amps as max.

Emitter lumens, 8A drive to the T6

5pcs of T6 at 67 deg C @ LED junction. or 7pcs of T6 at 49 deg C @ LED junction

Is the drop in compatible with the normal J12 body without any modification?

8500 emitter lumens equates to 1214 lumens per LED.

Can 3x 26650 cells deliver that kind of juice and can that little +B spring effectively deliver that much current?

hell i still want a triple , i am waiting for the 9 led version that it !

Just for fun..... 3 x 26650 can easily deliver 21 amps of current at the XM-Ls working forward voltage or 7 amps per cell (3 amps per XM-L, 21 amps total). Does not give 1214 lumens @ emitter, but very close to 1000 lumens @ emitter.

It would be ~ 7 amps at the spring with 3S. Should be just ok, barely. Switch also should be pretty ok.... I mean look at the DRY.

it'd probably light up like an incandescent bulb - for about 1 second

seriously though, I doubt it. I'm guessing it would at least get hot enough to lose its 'spring'

We just have to look at the DRY switch/tailcap spring. It does not even get hot....just a wee bit warm. That's about 5 amps. 7 amps should still be ok, but barely.

100W HID ballasts does above 10 amps for about 10 seconds during warmup.

that's true, I was thinking total power, not current. We're going to find out. if someone else doesn't get around to it before me (and find out its inadvisable) i'll stick one of those KD drivers in this - or the 9 version that we'll see before summer :)

I don't care if high (2.8a to each) is only 2 minutes. That's plenty of time to beach my boat.
