$50 Dollar Challenge

$50 Dollar Challenge

OK, you've got 50USD and your target is to get someone the best possible range of lights.   Ideally you'll include at least a light for their keychain, a small pocket light, a floody light and a thrower.

The budget is for lights only, so no need to include cells or a charger.   Let's see what you can come up with and just how much it is possible to get these days for this small sum.

Can you combine traits or must they be dedicated?

All lights off-the-shelf.   Traits/uses could be combined but by a 'small pocket light' I do mean sub-P60.

Get a WF-501B for $14.99 At TMart and a C10 at DX $20.30 and come in under budget. Besides I think (hope) the C10 is a better thrower than the C8.  I have 3 on order.

$25 - ITP A2, XPG-R5-AA

$20 Ultrafire C8 (Ebay), these can be found with either XRE, XML or XPG... pick whichever you want.  XRE for throw, XML for floody throw, XPG for something  in-between.

$5 DX Fauxton type lights for keychain

Substitute this

a floody light:

for this

and you'll even get change from your (VFM's) $50

Then use the savings to upgrade the keychain light, maybe the Fenix for endurance with the pocket light available for brightness.

For $50, I'd buy two nice lights instead of 4 cheapo lights, but y'alls know that's my game plan.

But in this case, I would vote

$9 for a Black Cat keychain light

$10 for a Sipik SK68 pocket light

and $31 for a Neutral-tint XIN TD C8 from Intl-outdoors

Yeah, that would do it right.

Rats, finally sold my 2010 509hp Mustang...now I can buy more lights!

Sold the red one too! Now guess what I drive, doing my penance for 500 hp commuters...

Id buy one Fenix E21, I think they are close to 35$.

Then one coin cell fake photon (those are very handy), cost about 1$ at the dollar store.  And they last a loooooooong time.  Maybe Id buy the person QTY=2 of these.

Then a Fenix E01 AAA light, those are really handy, about 15$.

So thats

Main AA go-to light

Key-chain light

Little AAA light

Solid setup that will cover a lot of bases.  I got my E21 for $27 with a 30% discount at REI... great light for the $$.

Oh, we can do that?  I'd like $50 also.

Don't be confused, my Username has been changed from "Cone" to "T.H.Cone".  I'm still the same clown.
