Panasonic 18650 3100

Has anyone tried these. They are the protected version. From what I understand the cells are very good, what I am not sure of is if the PCB is any good.

Any experience, anyone?

Marc.

I noticed these the other day and posted in another thread.

They also have protected 2900mah as well.

Sorry I did not see your post. Was it along the same lines as mine?

The only info I found says the un-protected are excellent but I wonder how safe they are. They can go down to 2.3v, which at least to me, renders protection all but useless for a lot of torches.

i think recommendations from panasonic is 2.5V for single applications and 2.75V for multi-cell applications. Protection would still be good to prevent overdischarge (going below 2.5V), and avoid overcharging the batteries (in case you have a faulty battery). My question was also about how effective the protection circuit is. the protected 3100mah look just like the ones from focal price. There is a thread on them, so might be good to have a look in there for info. I'd say the dx and focal price batteries are the same thing, but your never sure with that sort of thing.

Do you have a link to the focalprice thread, by any chance?

Thanks for that. It's a good thread.
