UF-H2 driver replacement options?

My friends UF-H2 quit working the other day, the switch and led tested out ok, so I'm betting the driver went poof. Are there any other ramping drivers out there or am I stuck replacing it with a H-M-L driver?

You could buy this ramping drop in and take the driver out of it. It's driven to 1.1amps max and it flashes at low, medium and high while it ramps. It's has a really nice driver.

I am already visualizing the duct tape over your mouth.

That driver has a voltage range of 3.6v to 8.4v. I'm looking for something that will work with regular AA's, this is for a non-flashaholic.
