Any new developments in High CRI ?

Currently have a Triple Nichia 219 Sportac dropin in a Solarforce host.

Anything new since then for high CRI ?

Would be nice having something with more output and / or multiple modes.

It looks like on the Sportac website that the Nichia 219 they use at the moment is the relatively new 219B (they do not mention it but the light colour is stated 5000K, and the old 219A is 4500K).

This high CRI 219B is much more efficient than the high CRI 219A. The led does not get any better at the moment.

The leds can be driven harder than in the Sportac drop-in, and thus have more output, but that might not be advicable for a P60 drop-in, it gets too hot. A better heatsinked flashlight is then needed.

Did they use the older 219A before ? How do I tell if my sportac dropin is 219A or 219B ?

I know the 219a would have a hint of pink.
The 219b is way pure whiter.

Didn’t know sportac make the 219b now.
Is that confirmed by eagtac ?.

I had one but that seemed pinky

Thanks lots

Don't know anything about their previous drop-ins. The second picture in this post shows the 219A left and the 219B right. The dome of the 219A is smaller and rounder, the dome of the 219B is shallower, much like a XP-G. The base is also a bit different, the 219 A has a black triangle and black spots at the side, the 219B has only the triangle:

Yeah I’ve read the triples were 219A. They could have changed recently.
Left is the 219A, Right is the 219B

IS has a special price on

Cree XM-L2, Bare, S6, 7D3 Tint (~2900K) 90+ CRI

Wonderful color temp & hi CRI for interior lighting…

I have them lighting the front porch, deck and several lamps around the house.
Very nice for use where the 219 is just a bit too cool.

Hi got this back from eagtac:

Hi Darryl,

Yes. It uses 219B now.

Cheers!

Where can I order a triple 219b drop in ? The one I have now has a pink tint so I guess it is the older 219a

Hi no idea at the moment, & I would like to know the same.
I too had the same pinky 219 most certainly.
The whiter 219b hcri would be better, pure white, no pink.
There are those ones on eagtacs site but no mention of 219b really, and I don’t want to order until I’m sure it’s B.

Yeah but that slight pinkish tint brings out the red, brown, purple, orange colors better than any other LED I’ve seen.
Like how it renders skin tone, foods, wood like nothing else.

Confirmed 219B

Calvin, you selling these ?.

Thanks.

They should be listed on our webstore.

Nichia NVSL219AT-H1 5000K, 92 CRI, B10 Bin ?.
