Kershaw Tremor: feedback wanted

I'm thinking about getting a Chinese-made Kershaw Tremor for $25.

To anyone that has handled or owned one: Is the Kershaw Tremor a great knife?

I have one. You will not be disappointed . Built like a tank, solid lock up, speedsafe (assisted opening). Razor sharp out of the box. Get it!!! There’s some nice vids on the tremor on YouTube. Search kershaw tremor.

Thanks, gen1.3_ I just watched about ten different Kershaw Tremor YouTube videos, and everyone seems to love it! I'm waiting for an Enlan EL-02 to arrive from Exduct, but once it gets here I'll probably order the Tremor. Like a lot of people around here, I've been buying too many budget knives lately. $)

Ive been edc'in the tremor since i got it. I just did a water bottle cut test...WOW this bad girl is sharp! Lined up five 16 oz bottles , cut through them like a lazer.

Do you have a link to the chinese-made version?

All kershaw tremors are made in china. Try ebay, there are good prices with free shipping. Sorry no link...using my phone to post.

gen1.3_ is right, all Kershaw Tremors are made in China. The dealer that sells them for $25 ships to the U.S. for free, but he does not ship internationally. I sent him an email asking a couple questions, and will provide a sales link as soon as he gets back to me. By the way, my favorite Tremor YouTube video (of the ten I watched) is by nutnfancy:

Amazon has the plain edge version for $25 and some change at the moment. Probably US-only but I can't check right now since I'm posting from my phone. Sorry.

+1 That review was my favorite as well. Nutnfancy knows his stuff ! This knife is a laser!Water bottle cut test:

Raccoon City,

Kershaw sure is coming out with some very good looking and affordable knives. If you hadn't seen these here you go:

I really like the first one.

Kershaw has a whole stable of well-designed Chinese knives in their catalogue, including some excellent opening-assisted blades. The nice thing about Kershaw's "high value" line is that they provide lifetime warranties even on the Chinese stuff. Kershaw's customer service is second to none of the major knife makers. CRKT also has a nice group of Chinese made knives, including some stuff designed by some rather well-known makers like Kit Carson and Ron Lake that they provide lifetime warranties on. CRKT's customer service is pretty good as well.

While I like Spyderco's Chinese stuff, their CS leaves a lot to be desired.

That water bottle cut test is reedickyoulus! I'm almost afraid to own a knife that sharp. Almost.

What I think of the following knives (I'm really picky):

One Ton 1447: not an assisted opener, so not interested
Compound with partial serration 1940st: really nice, but I hate the pocket clip
Brawler 1990: a bit too small
3 1/2-in. RJI 1985: this is my fave out of these four new knives. I hope it has a nice pocket clip.

I'm also picky. iI don't like serrations but kershaw makes the best effective serrations IMO. Yeah i hope it will have a nice pocket clip, kershaw is known to have awful looking pocket clips. The tremor has the nicest looking pocket clip , reminiscent of the spyderco military.

Okay, the Kershaw knife dealer got back to me. His name is Dave and he goes by Kershawguy on bladeforums.com. The Kershaw 1950 Tremor is $25 shipped to the U.S. He does not ship internationally. As of 7-8-2011 he had around 40 Tremor knives in stock. He accepts Paypal. His contact email and Paypal address is steelhead15@juno.com. I am only listing his info because he has some low prices on Kershaw knives. I just sent him $25 for a Tremor. Dave has an excellent reputation on bladeforums. Here are some of his sale threads:

He also sells Zero Tolerance knives, but they are relatively pricey. Check out his signature (on bladeforums) for those knives.

To figure out what knife each model number corresponds to, I reference this page on Kershaw's website: http://www.kershawknives.com/products.php?search_by=modelnumber

EDIT: Kershaw knives made in China might have blems, but Kershawguy is in Oregon and does not have access to Chinese blems.

Blems (short for blemishes) are factory seconds that are cheaper than non-blems. Blems do not have a factory warranty. If I have read correctly, most of the time the blemishes are quite minor.

That vendor on BF looks pretty good, I like blems or 2nds myself too...

Here is a NutnFancy video, LOL, the guy likes to go on and on, but has some good reviews.
