Any relatively inexpensive UV flashlight solutions out there?

Just looking to see if there are UV flashlights in the single AA format or multiple AA format that are under $20. I’ve looked on Fasttech and I can’t seem to find any. I like that store because of the free international shipping since I don’t currently live in the states.

I share your interest, I would also like to get a decent UV light.

How about the 18650 type?

UV - 400nm 600mW (0.7A, Aluminum MCPCB, On/Off)

Or the drop-in:

UV - 400nm 600mW (0.7A, Aluminum MCPCB, On/Off)

We can also offer the 365~370nm option.

I guess I wouldn’t mind it in the 18650 format, but I have more AA eneloops to spare than 18650s. This light would also be something for fun and not a need (as if having this many flashlights is really a need…. but you know what I mean. :stuck_out_tongue: ) That light is nice but it’s probably not free shipping and the starting price is already over my $20 limit for a “toy” light.

Yes, it’s free shipping.

Check this thread for good info.
Not AA, but I opted for the Manafont dropin used by the OP in a 501A body.
Its a good setup for me.

I’m interested about the 365 nm option. What about it?

Ciao

Order from the site for the UV option, and leave a note about the 365nm requirement, the additional
charge is $20, then we will customs make it, thanks.

Ok, thanks.

The link for the manafont drop in isnt working for me. Is is a P60 drop in that would work for a Convoy C8 body? I have one of those laying around that i dont really use. If I were to go the 18650 route, I would much prefer a drop in module for that body instead of buying a whole other light.

Can these flashlights be used for sterilization purposes or is that a different type of UV?

No, the drop-in does not work with C8, only with the P60 style host, like the Solarforce and Surefire type.

Here is a $13.00 one, UltraFire™ WF-502B 3W UV 395~400nm LED Flashlight

I just bought a few different LEDs and whipped up some drop ins. A 502b is pretty cheap.

???? It comes up when searching the fasttech site for 'uv flashlight', and I can tell you it works very well (I have one). Or did I miss something in the OP?

Btw, that is a really good service, Hank, to offer making a custom 365nm drop-in! :-) And (curious) do you know of any 3535 (xp-footprint) 365nm led that you can use?

do you have photo of the led ?

In the original post I stated that I was looking for one in a AA format, not an 18650, but I’m quickly realizing that it’s close to an impossibility unless I built it myself. But either way, PayPal changed some regulations so now I can’t use it to ship to the country I’m in now and Fasttech requires using a credit card where the billing address and shipping address are the same. Unfortunately, for this temporary expat, I’m out of luck with Fasttech now. Stinks cuz I really liked ordering from that place.

I am also looking for. At the moment these are my candidates.

the aliexpress one is suspicious in that, at least on the picture, the uv-led shown is a 5mm through-hole one that can never deliver the 5W that is claimed in the specs (more like 100mW, max)

More quality but very expensive
