Not much about $3 torches lately.Had some jeans with small coin pocket

so used this for some months. Liked it and got used to the reliable twisty switch.

Not much about modding on the forum either,so; "Smiling shark" version,

This host is a bit longer. My Lanshi has no beam hole so emitters are different.

Bought another and it was not the same. Lose thread and o-ring do not match.

Not recommended!!

I guess one of the biggest problems with ultra budget lights is quality consistency, or rather the lack of it. My favourite el cheapo of the moment is this one (also from tiny deal) http://www.tinydeal.com/mini-led-flashlight-with-strap-p-11591.html

The beam is undeniably purplish, and not exactly blinding bright, but plenty useable. About as bright as an average 'low' mode. Overall quality feels way better than the price, although threads were dry as a bone, and there are no O rings anywhere. Has one of the nicest tail clickies I've ever used, one of those that you can't resist clicking just for the tactile feedback. I know, how sad is that? :\
