$100 Budget MONSTER-Lights w/ 15000+ lumens: Wurkkos TS32-Nichia 519a. Comparison with Chinese-LED Heavyweights: Haikelite, Jin Heng JKK76, multiple Nightwatches. (Summary & measurements on P. 1) LATEST: RIDICULOUS 20,000+ lumen pocketable NW NS14R v2.

I also got myself some JP40s. They are great.

For your tests, have you considered modifying the light itself to accept flat top cells, as the adapter may add resistance?

BTW, the latest Nightwatch lights now can be ordered with a mystery 4000mah cell. I wonder if this is the JP40?

What timing for your post. I am ordering a light the Nightwatch NS14 V2 (just such an unusual light and the 35% Xmas sale is hard to resist) from Nealsgadgets. During Chat Neal mentioned this battery 45XP - 4500mah 80A max current.

Disregarding the inflated 80A, I was just about to ask the forum what this battery is! Neal is cagey about its provenance.

Re. modifying light, I know but I am not handy at all so don’t plan to modify the light. But with single cell NS14 V2 hopefully that won’t be necessary for shoot-out anymore.

Interesting, I did only see the 40XP as an option.

I decided to skip the NS14 due to its size - it competes with the Q8+ and the HK08 is a true step up if portability is not a concern.

I did order the LW55 and L54U though, they seem ike fun pocket rockets!

Oh you’re right. The web site mentions 40XP, and only with other lights, not mine. Let me ask him if 45XP is a typo. Neal tends to get cagey when I start asking too many questions so I’m not sure he’ll answer. I did ask him earlier about the XP.

“What brand is this 45XP Neal?”
Silent… “Let me confirm.”

From Neal regarding 45XP vs 40XP:

“different, 45XP is 4500mah and 40XP is 4000mah”

I also just emailed him and got the same answer. He also stated both 80A.

Goodness the outputs. Yes, A LOT of fun.
Very interesting LEDs. I don’t recognize them.

Might be SFN40 and SFN55 or similar. Hard to tell. I look forward to testing it.

I post a lot about Nichia and Firefly FFL but for actual use in my daily evening walk and for fun, seemingly like you, I love these high power lights with rare LEDs. I like “collecting” them, collect because goodness I don’t need another light.

Can’t wait to see this XP45 battery. Neal has been spot on with his Mystery Lishen so I have high expectation.

1 Thank

Well put. Did you ever end up getting an HK08?

I have rather tame expectations. A cell with both higher capacity and power than the best available cell sounds too good to be true. But I will try it anyhow.

No. Just the N14 V2 (because the Chaos is too long for pocket and no side-switch).

I have HK05 so am trying to rationalize that HK08 will just step down faster; I don’t need it. I have a taste of the Haikelite’s wall of light already. But fact is yes I would love to have HK08 also.

1 Thank

Yeah that makes sense.
I think the HK08 has more candela per lumen atop the higher lumens, so it may reach a lot farther.

But it may be worth waiting for the next generation. They made the handle removable on the HK10, which I would like to see on an improved version of the HK08.

I like mine a lot. So much so, that I plan to modify it with half SFH43 3000K emitters mixing with the current 6500K ones.

Very nice. So nice warm lower CCT, without the green tint that I have to deal with in my HK05 with 5000k SFN60 LEDs?

The tint on the SFH43 6500K is actually quite good. But I prefer 4500K and higher CRI.

Those batteries Neal bundles (the brown/ tan) are probably Lishens. The white ones that come with the NS14R and the A15 i reviewed are white and are possibly more lishens. Until sometime tests them formally though it’s still a mystery. I do know they bring the thunder though because they happily supply 70 amps.

Lol Neal and his multiple “mystery” batteries. It does add some degree of fun to play battery detective. Thanks for the info. I don’t know what color this new 45XP is, but I’ll find out soon enough:

I agree. In my testing the San’an/ChangDa LEDs actually don’t have bad tint or photometry for cool white low cri LEDs. Not too green at low output and not angry blue or purple at higher currents. However, switching to high cri is a different story as koef3 testing shows. Those round die LEDs are also sketchy.

These are all the lights with Chinese “power LEDs” I have.

I updated the table to include the Nightwatch NS14R v2 and its LED SFQ55.4, which is somewhere in LA, actually at the local post office :+1:, waiting for delivery to me.

We have yet another battery version, Nightwatch-brand and black! Still testing but it beats every other battery in my collection so far, including P45B & Nealsgadgets Lishen (admittedly old).

The 45XP might be the BAK 45D. In tests, they outperform the EVE 40pl, but the ampace JP40 still wins.
