100MB of beverage cooling

I can’t figure it out either

Can’t figure out how it works or can’t figure out why it requires 100MB of free HD space and 32MB of RAM or can’t figure out why anyone would want it?

all of the above except how it works, i assume its a peltier cooler

Correct. It’s a small Peltier (TEC). It doesn’t require 100MB of space or 32MB of ram, and would run fine from a USB charger. I have no idea why anyone would want one.

Reminds me of the gag i heard somewhere of the guy who bought a new hard drive and wondered how much heavier it will get when he fills it with data

Haha… Answer: Not much. It may have gained some mass from the dust that will gather on it while being filled, but that’s about it

Reverse the peltier and you have a small reflow setup!

I have all this spare plus a mouse trap and used chocolate wrappers. Would it work better with the extras I have over your set up? If so I could send you the parts to convert your PC to the same spec as mine. We could then get a group buy going. Thanks and cheers.

You could get this to help you relax with your beverage

I’d rather get this, make finding the tv remote easier

I don’t think 2.5W of peltier cooling is going to do very much to chill my beer. If a beer would even fit in it…

i thought that too, i figure if you put an already cold drink in it, it will keep it cold, or at least take longer to warm up

It would appear that PilotPTK is not going to take me up on my offer. If anyone else is interested let me know. I may even have an empty milk bottle if that will help this thing work better. Cheers.

At 100% efficiency it’s 8 BTU/hr. It can lower the temp. of a 16 oz. beer by 8F/hour.

we don’t know its efficiency

however how quickly will the environment warm that beverage:
on a table at standard temp/pressure or
in that little fridge

On a REALLY good day, a TEC/Peltier is 10 or 20% efficient.

This

may help with the warming calc. - it should be the reverse of cooling if you just plug in can diameter and extrapolate for the can length.
