12v -> 6v

I need some help/suggestions on how I should do.
I have a few rechargeable external 12v battery (9800mah li-ion) that I use for my soundrecorder and that is fine.
Since I have several of those batteries, I want to use one of them powering a trailcam. The trailcam wants 6v, so how should I do this? I don’t know much about these things.
Can I buy some parts and solder myself or are there some cheap “converter” (12v -> 6v) that I can buy? I don’t know what they are called in english so I don’t know what to search for.
Any ideas?

There are buck converters for such voltage conversions. You can find 5V preset and variable output modules in EBay. They should go at around 3-5 USD.

12A DC BUCK step down 4.5-28V to 0.8-28V 3.3 5 12 24

Thank you both.
I will have a look. Now I know what they are called. :slight_smile:
I assume that it’s like usual, that the more expensive ones are better?
