<15$ Zoomable Flashlight Recommendation (?)

Hello,

I want to buy compact flashlight which should be zoomable.

What would you recommend to me?

I prefer aliexpress.

Thank you.

Welcome to BLF!
I got my Warsun X65 for less then $15 (new name X50 I think)
For that price with the 3xAA holder a good zoomie, much better then other budget zoomies for sure.
Simon sold a $5 G700 latticebright zoomie and well it is worth it,but Simon is taking a long holiday.

Thank you so much for response! I hope I will provide good information on this forum as much as I receive.

I have looked Warsun x50 and found this: Page Not Found - Aliexpress.com . Do you think it is legit? It says that this has cree led. Do you think there can be flashlights with cree led under $15-20 ?

For g700 I found this: Page Not Found - Aliexpress.com .

These are fake right? Maybe I should look Gearbest?

No I am talking about this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Warsun-CREE-XML-T6-LED-Flashlight-tactical-26650-AA-rechargeable-2000-Lumens-Zoomable-Flashlight-Torch-light/32378334577.html

And yeah that is what I mean with G700 (a wel known light that is being sold with a ase, cr@ppy cells and cr@ppy charger for around $35-70 via agressive ads.) for $4 a fair price

Here it is on Amazon for $16. I can’t tell if its a legit Cree emitter though.

If your into AA/14500 batteries, maybe pick up a couple SK68 clones for a few bucks each.

18650 batteries, a SK98… cheap zoomies and then the addiction begins…

Ditto.

Ultrafire UF-10 :+1:

Thank you for all those answers.

Lumitact G700 Tactical Military LED Flashlight - Night Test - 700 Lumens - YouTube I want a flashlight like this. That brightness is quite sufficent for me. Also it has strobe functionality.

So, should I buy https://tr.aliexpress.com/item/Zero-G700-Tactical-Flashlight-LED-Military-Lumitact-Alonefire/32691101381.html?isOrig=true&isOrigTitle=true or SK98 or Ultrafire UF-10? G700 looks like same as in the video but they have different brand names :S I do not care about brands but I do not want to buy one that does not have cree led.

I more like 18650 batteries so sk98 or g700 would be better choice. SK98 have metal attacher and it is a nice to have. But does Sk98 have strobing functionality?

Also, is there a difference between 18650 and 3xAAA in terms of brightness or power? 3xAAA would provide 4.5 volt but I do not know about amp.

I am pretty sure I will end up with a lamp that has the lowest quality cree knock off chinese led, but anyways

Btw do we have any reliable Aliexpress store? Someone said there is “Simon’s store” is this related to aliexpress?

Yeah I found it. Do we have any date when Simon will sell flashlights again?

Ooh man you are gone be bummed by what I am about to say:
99% of below $7 lights do not have a Cree led
On the plus side strobe is there on almost all.
I bought a nice looking zoomie with a Cree XML once for $7 but last time I checked it was not available and another BLFer reviewed the exact same light later and it had a latticebright led, so many are made cheaper and cheaper, corners cut every new run.
Where do you live?
Somebody might sell you a nice light for a fair price (maybe even a modded one)

That’s bad  But what to expect below $5

I think I will buy both of these

*Convoy S2+
*Random SK98

Maybe Ultrafire SK98 or trusted brands has legit cree led? What do you think?

I live in Turk*y. It is a burning hell that nobody here is interested in any kind of ‘hobby’ except making bombs or talking with goats. If you mean shipping abroad, shipping fee is very high unfortunately

Yes… substantial difference IMHO.
>Capacity, ~750mah versus 2000-3400mah
>Wattage power density (power capacity per unit volume 18650 versus 3xAAA)
>Current delivery, 1.5 amps versus at least 5~6amps
>Reliability (factoring in 3AAA carrier quality).
>Ease of cell replacement in-field
>Backup cell cary

there are probably more…

Thank you. I will make sure buying legit 18650 batteries. Which is the best 18650 for these kind of flashlights? NCR18650B?

Yes good choice
Just get the cheapest SK98, or better a AA using SK68, those could just be the most fun for the $ I mean mine all reach 100m on a cr@ppy cheap AA and cost so little

I’ve got warsun X50 with XM-L2, great zoomie for that price:

In that video you saw the light with 3 AAA batteries put out 100 lumens at best

Watch videos like this

This Wasun light is with primaries a lot more useful as it runs AA which have 3 times more capacity
Makes also a good 18650 or 26650 light with spacer

The downsides
These zoomies wont be waterproof if there is not a second glass sealing the LED inside
They loose lumens when you zoom in
They got no spill when zoomed in

A AR coated glass lens would be nice upgrade for the zooms
One of the best budget zooms
http://www.gearbest.com/led-flashlights/pp_263535.html

Nice a link to a $15 Warsun!
It is a nice light
The loss of lumens while zoomed is true but the throw increases nevertheless
I have two solar strings on a bridge and it is funny because when I point at the little panels from 35m away with my Jaxman they stay on in flood and switch of halfway the zoom
Flood is useful for work closer by.

The actual cost of an emitter is a pittance.

Nearly three years ago $20 got me a genuine XM-L Ultrafire SK98, a couple of LG 18650 B4 2600mAh cells and a cheap single slot chinese charger.

Got this XM-L2 UltraFire SK98 for a friend nearly a year ago. Came with a genuine Cree emitter. Check out the FastTech forum thread under “Discussions”.

Cheers ^:)

The emitter itself is an important part,
but it does not be good if the
host,
battery,
driver or
springs are bad quality reducing the performance a lot
or lead to a dead flashlight after a short time.
