You could ask vapcell Dennis… wait! It seems like vapcell Dennis’ posts have been removed from the forum. I was checking to see if I could find them, but no dice. Examples:

Vapcell INR18350 1100mAh retested by Mooch: shenanigans again.

There was a thread titled “Tesla sanyo NCR21700A 5000mah amazing power beat samsung 21700 48G” back in the day (November - December of 2018). vapcell Dennis started it with a bunch of graphs of their own cell testing versus others related in the same category from the main manufacturers. I have update alerts from that thread in my email. The thread has been removed. Now I understand why, all of a sudden, I noticed a steep drop in my post count weeks ago.

Sofar it looks to me like it costs $18-$20 with shipping.
BG is maybe $15 but still ridiculous and have a bad rep.

Vapcell is actually a reputable company from my experience and I own a bunch of different Vapcell cells. For example I tested the Vapcell 18350 cells (probably older version) at 1156/1155/1019/1149/1126 mah. I was going to retest the 1,019mah unit becaues it might be a fluke with my Xtar Dragon but they got mixed up so I didn’t want to retest everything. The 2800mah Vapcell VTC5D measures 2855/2775/2842/2866 and pushes my FET flashlights harder than the VTC6. The Vapcell 3000mah VTC6A measures 2986/2983 mah and also pushes harder than my geniune VTC6. The Vapcell 4000mah 40T measures 4038 mah and pushes the several Fireflies E07 I have to near 30T levels as confirmed with my TA lumen sphere.

It is unfortunate that the recent batch of Vapcell 18350 does not perform the same as the older batches, but it is beyond Vapcell’s control if their supplier changes the formula without letting Vapcell know. I give Vapcell the benefit of the doubt because they are well aware that there are plenty of forum members that have the capability to test their cells and that would be a big risk to lose reputation over maybe a couple pennies in savings. Also I like how Vapcell voluntarily send so many of their cells to HKJ and Mooch for testing, which I think is extremely beneficial to the community.

Last but not least, please remember Vapcell does not manufacture cells. They simply rewrap cells. If not for rewrap companies, many of these cells would not be available to the average consumer because they are not available for purchase in small quantities. Among the rewrappers, Vapcell seems to be one of the more knowledgeable and reliable ones.

I think it would be very helpful to members here if your deleted posts can be recovered because many of your posts contain useful technical information.

No current rating is given, just a “High discharge performance” statement in the wrap. My right astral ear was beeping when I found them. There’s really no way to lose here because:

There are no other 1000+mAh rated 18350 cells in the market right now as far as I know. Even Vapcell was caught “red-handed” and they had to admit and/or realize the cell they were rewrapping was changed. Their newer wrap reads a 9A rating now.

If the cells do not meet their capacity rating I go dispute and that’s about it. But they will I believe.

The 1000+mAh 18350 cell being manufactured right now has been tested by HKJ under BestFire and Shockli wraps:

The KingWeis look the same.

The shape of their discharge curves match closely, with some minor differences attributable to binning or cell grade:

Average capacity at 0.2A (0.2C) down to 2.8V was 1060mAh for the Shockli cells and 1008 for the BestFire.

Yes, the same factory produces, but with a little modification of the formula, it reduces the capacity and improves the power.

Product consistency is not very good, but it is still the best 18350 batteries in the market, and we are still developing better 18350 batteries.

Capacity figures are 916, 897, 902, 896, 899, 895, 882, 886, 913 and 890, all mAh values discharging down to 2.8V barely at ≈0.5C. Average capacity: 897.6mAh.

Cold cell DC internal resistance numbers are 105.22, 104.67, 111.11, 110.22, 108.22, 110.22, 117.44, 116.33, 112.33 and 111.44, all mΩ values taken at a liiiiil below 20°C. Average: 110.72mΩ.

Sorry if I forgot to say. Battery weight was measured at 216.7g for all 10 pieces in my kitchen scale if I do remember right, will recheck later.

With regards to discharge performance can't say for sure, but check this related review: LiitoKala 18350 900mAh (Pink) @ lygte-info.dk

While the above cell features a different top, review measured capacity, internal resistance and even weight are nearly identical.

I'd say its discharge performance is ≈5C or 4.5A maximum. Good cell for up to ≈3A of effective drain.

Pete7874, 18350 cells are short and therefore spring rail pressure is loose. By sticking another 18350 by the other side that is fixed just enough. :-)

Cell weight re-tested and confirmed, they're within ±0.25g or so.

Phew! Makes sense. For a moment I thought you were charging (or discharging) two cells in series in a single slot.
