18650 batteries easily slide out of position when using GYRFALCON All-88 charger.

I have been using this charger for my 26650 batteries. However, I ran into trouble when I tried to use it for my 18650 batteries. The positive terminal battery contact point is so small and the battery slot so wide that the 18650 battery gets dislodge easily at the slightest vibration. Specially with button top 18650 batteries, they are not securely sitting in the battery slot. The positive top slide out of position and disconnect from the charger at the slightest bump, shake or vibration from the snap of spring from the adjacent battery slot.

Does anyone have a fix for this or is the company aware of and addressing this problem? I thought if the company will some kind of add-on to the positive terminal or make the positive contact point bigger and concave shape instead of convex shape, the button top battery will not easily slide out of contact position from a bump or vibration. This charger is sweet when used with 26650 batteries but a pain in the … when used with 18650 batteries.

I don’t have that charger but after reading your post, I think as a workaround you could use these when charging 18650 batteries:

I have not had this problem before with my Gyrfalcon chargers … but they are not being bumped or shaken :slight_smile:

I have the same problem with mine. But with a bit of fussing I get them to make contact.

If you have Harbor Freight in the area, you can get a whole box of O-rings for uses like this. Some flashlights have peculiar sizes and you may have to play with various O-rings to fit.

I don’t have too much trouble with the displacement problem. When I put in button tops of any kind I pull the slider by hand, drop in the cell, let it settle into the bottom and stop rocking/moving, then ease the slider onto it. Usually works.
