It took almost 9 years for us to grow to our 1000th review!
The website started in November 2017.
We will celebrate this with all our readers by doing several giveaways.
What would you like 1Lumen to do in the next few years? How can we improve our website?
Congratulations to 1Lumen. You score your first thousand in less than a millennium.
That way you laid the foundation of a lot of trust (with me in any case).
Because the results (numbers) of testing a flashlight are depending on so many variables that the absolute outcomes can differ considerably. Results by the same reviewers decrease those differences (imho). But I do trust all relative outcomes.
Talking about relativity (in Dutch):
I like the setup of your reviews, keep it that way. So people can (eventually) skip the foreplay and jump to the funny parts.
I DO read all famous last words in your reviews.
Not all lights are “the best we’ve ever seen”.
Neither do you copy the website of the manufacturer and add a few superlatives of your own.
There is one thing that bugs me (a bit) however. You repeatedly call for reviewers who are native English speaking.
But since numbers are your core product, the language comes second.
With a final check from the man himself (aka you) you can mitigate the risk of an absurd review.
Since I’m an early boomer, I don’t ask this for myself. But I think a lot of younger (EU) members would like to join your team.

Like others, I greatly appreciate the quality of your reviews and often use the data in my projects. Unless I missed it and it’s there already, I think it would be great to have some kind of easy to use data search/filter system that could pull comparable measurements from across the reviews. I understand what you mean about the native English speakers. But that’s a deliberate choice.
Currently, more than 50% of our visitors are from an English speaking country. Having that native tone of voice (excluding myself) is important.
Secondly, some manufacturers only send to US addresses, and thirdly, EU has annoying import fees etc..

Jup, finished it yesterday and it’s a beast with modern tabless 21700 cells! I just tested it and it’s also a great fire starter!
