Hi, Im working on modding one of the cheap Skywolfeye double zoomie headlamps from ebay .
I want to use a single driver, does using around 4A in a 7135 type driver like a qlite with the emitters in parallel sound reasonable? It will have two 18650's, so I could do series as well. Whats more efficient? I'd like to have somewhere between 1.8-2.2a to each emitter with two or three simple modes. The heatsink looks ok, but the housing and lenses are all plastic, so I don't want to melt anything. Besides the plastic, the lenses where aligned very well and worked ok with the original xm-l's before I disassembled everything.
Are there better driver options?
Are replacement glass lenses available for this and would they provide a worthwhile benefit?
Is my only option with this type of heatsink to thermal paste the noctigons in place? Could I heat it up enough with a 40w iron to solder the noctigons in place? If not, whats a better choice between arctic silver, ceramique, or alumina?
Thanks!
