This is an interesting light. I’ve been looking at it for a few years but was always turned off by the direct drive. Turns out it was updated some time ago and has regulated output on the L-M-H levels as well as temp-controlled turbo.
The Convoy Store listing marks the light as 4 mode but it actually ships with a ramping driver that can be put into different modes. This isn’t mentioned in the original listing but is found in the listing for the H1 driver.!
Here are the instructions for the driver, incase yours ships with ramping and you are confused like I was.
The light is larger and heavier than many other right angle lights but it has excellent heat dissipation and temp control. Cool/Uncooled turbo runtime below:
I think this is an excellent addition if you’ve got a S2+ already. Here’s a link to the Convoy Store listing, I’m not being compensated for this and I bought my light with my own money - I just think it’s a great light that would be useful to a lot more people if they knew about the driver update.

It’s a shame the top strapless headband is weak, low quality. I have two of them too, from a noname manufacturer, I used them for S2 and S3.
And it is a sad thing that the magnet is also missing from the tail cap. Sticking it on afterwards is a ridiculous idea and very vulnerable.
The runtime curves are nice and flat, but a bit short.
I like the UI. And I applaud all the LED and color temperature options, many with high CRI. For me the beam is too tight. For most uses I want a wide smooth beam. He does offer another listing with a beaded TIR with a 75° spread although with fewer LED options. For me I still don’t think that’s going to be enough. And yeah you need a different head strap for more than occasional short use. And no clip. So I keep looking at it but I have to pass.
