Yeah this. Getting in via saved links causes the problem to reappear, but opening a new page via the www. address being typed in the search bar resets it.

Hey Rich, are you referring to the image upload issue in iOS? In any case, the option that we were testing with INeedMoreLumens didn’t seem to actually make any difference regarding image uploads on iOS, it still looks like a random issue.
Hard to test properly at the moment, I’m camped out and relying on a 4G signal.
This one from yesterday uploads ok from the new saved link.

Cool, thanks for testing even while on holiday! Glad it’s basically working. It should work or at least behave the same on any newly opened browser tab with BLF, as far as I know the stored links shouldn’t make a difference.
The sizing issue is a problem on another forum I use. It runs on ZenForo so your tweaking here may not be compatible, but what was the fix in the end?
I’m not convinced that it’s a fix per se because we’re still seeing inconsistencies. But basically there is a setting for max image upload size in the forum’s settings panel, and there is also a much lower level configuration for the web server, and the two values need to match. I ended up raising it, which seems to have made most image uploads work for most tests here. But it doesn’t really make much sense, because with the previously configured maximum users didn’t have any trouble uploading larger images, and the system just accepted and resized them. And from desktop web browsers there were also no issues both before and after the recent update. So all I can figure is that there is some signal that the low-level web server is sending when a user attempts a large upload, and the previous Discourse forum didn’t throw an error to enforce that limit but now it does. And/or Safari may be interpreting differently compared to other browsers the status signals it receives from the server when an image upload is attempted.
