Another drop, $129 shipped

Very nice! I'm surprised this is still for sale!

Thanks!

Probably lumens, would have sold it if it’s fully driven XML.

This is more of an indoor light, looking for things inside the house with better CRI, it’s one of the very few light I do actually use, LOL

I just can't get over how gorgeous that light is, ma-sha! Since I can't afford it, can you share details on just how you went about creating it? That is possibly the sweetest custom I've ever seen. :hat:

I joined CPF in 2009 and enjoyed reading your threads there and learning from them. This is such a nice piece of work I’m sure it will sell. It just needs time to find the right buyer.

Sure,

Not much to say, except, l had some budget flashlights with the adjuster ring, one of them looks like a good fit to mag C, both diameter & color scheme. I basically cut out the magnetic ring section & sandwiched inside to the mag C tube & cut out the bottom of the OEM flashlight head & jointed to the bottom of mag C head.

The concept is easy, but it does take some practice, I probably did over a hundred cut & joint type of projects, fairly comfortable now but still took quite a few hours & lots of grinding. Joint the tube is easy, splice & joint two heads together & make it look like one is hard.

The host is a Q5 driven to 1 Amp, bought on ebay a while ago, not sure how to find it again.
The limitation is the driver, which I could not access or upgrade. This limit the out put, that’s why I swapped it out into a Nichia 219, since it can’t compete on hi out put, might as well make it useful. It’s till fairly bright, think McGizmo PDS 1Amp drive level of light, enough for in doors, some time I had to drop a level as it’s too bright for close up.

The reflector is rebel SMO but beam is not perfect, so I sputtered it, gives a better beam but spatter Rebel SMO doesn’t look as pretty as sputter regular mag reflector, non the less, the beam is better.

The only other guys who made a magnetic ring mag is Will, on CPF, however, with a custom neck that’s silver & bigger in diameter, not stealth looking. I am very happy with the look & UI of this light, just that I wish if there are magnetic switch rings available with high out put or swappable driver, would love to make a hi power one but it’s unlikely.

It does look as pretty as what picture shows thou, I am not a collector, otherwise, it’ll be Queen on a mag shelf
